Any ideas how to get crayon and wax off of wood (pine) dining room table? We've tried Murphy's oil and an organic multipurpose cleaner. Thanks
Super easy! Mr. Clean Magic eraser. Every home with a kid should have one. Find it at all grocery/drug stores near the reguar sponges. It will rub off like butter and not damage your table. :)
You can also try mayonnaise. I know it's weird, but sometimes it works on wood scratches and stains. Put it on there, leave it for a little while (10 minutes) and then wipe it off. (Then the next day clean it real good to make sure you got all the mayonnaise off!) Good luck!
Try Mr. Cleans eraser. Its in the cleaning aisle. It removed permanent marker from our wood table.
Candy, What organic product did you try? I have used one that gets most anything out.
Also, Try putting paper towel on top of it and then a lightly warm iron to melt it and the paper towel acts like a wick and pulls it up.
Try milk Yes that's right milk. It works well at getting crayon off walls and floors.

Mr Erasers do work sooo good!! I use them on everything, but be careful, they can dull a finish on furniture if you rub too hard, i found that out the hard way. They are the bomb..my mother in law bought us a whole case of them and they are almost gone!!

I have had great results with Goo Gone on most surfaces. My advice would be to test it on a small hidden place first, to be sure it doesn't harm the wood, but have had great results on my own wooden furniture. I have used it on crayon and on permanent marker stains. My husband even suggested I try it on a permanent marker stain that accidentally got on our computer screen (I wouldn't have listened to him except for the fact that he's a computer repairman and I figured he should know if it would be harmful). It worked great and didn't damage the screen at all.

As long as the table is sealed reasonably well with some kind of poly or other base, the following should work. But test a small area just in case.
Spray a cheap ( i.e. tacky ) hairspray on the crayon... then wipe with newspaper or a microfiber cloth immediately.
Another one I heard was toothpaste but seeing as that is an abrasive ( extremely fine, but abrasive none-the-less ) it may scratch the table surface.
