Cleanable Potty Seat

I am on my second potty seat, and it has gotten particularly funky. I am curious if any of you mom's out there have a potty seat you like that is EASY to keep clean. We currently have an Elmo seat that is cushy, and the boys get pee under the rim that fits in the toilet seat and it is really hard to get it out. I wipe it regularly with a lysol wipe and soak it on occasion as well.

Any recommendations? I have two more to potty train, so I'll be using it for a few years.

Thanks!
Jessica

I like a stool and the little potty seat that actually goes on the toilet. Wal-Mart sells them as well as any major department store. No mess and most kids can do it themselves. I've only had to wipe it up once when we first trained. Since then, I clean it when I clean the toilet.

We have a baby bjorn seat. My sone loves it and it is adjustable to fit regular or elongated toilet seats. It is very easy to clean. Another thing I like about it is the shield in the front. It is all one piece and seems lower and easier for my son to get over to sit down by himself. The other seat we have has a removable shield and everytime he sits down by himself he hits it and it comes off. He prefers the baby bjorn seat over the other one too.

Good Luck!

We just went right to the big potty with my 4th child, and I wished I would have done that with the other 3kids. MUCH easier, no messes to clean up, no stinky potty chair in the bathroom.

The baby bjorn potty seat is definitely the way to go. It can be cleaned and sanitized. It works great for both boys and girls. We have one in each bathroom and I hung up some of the nice bronze 3M hooks by the toilet so my son can hang it up when he is finished with it.

This seat is also the one our daycare uses because of its ability to be regularly sanitized.

This one is hard to explain, but I just bought it and love it. It is a regular hinged toilet seat for adults, but within it is a hinged potty seat for kids. So you can pull down which ever one you need, or push up whichever one you don't need. Since it is just like a regular potty seat - it's 100% easy access cleaning. I love that yoiu don't have to keep putting on or taking off a kids potty seat, so there's no potty seat laying on the floor of our bathroom anymore. A little pricey, but TOTALLY worth it. Here is the link, but Amazon also has some:

We also have one of those padded seats and I agree, it's not the best design. If you do want to get rid of it and get something else, I highly recommend the baby bjorn brand seat. It's all hard plastic and it's nicely contoured, with an adjustable dial to make it fit the toilet seat securely. I'd have one for each bathroom except I had my little helper with me when I went to the store to get a second, they didn't have them and I gave in to the character seat in the hopes he'd get excited and actually use it!

Skip the potty seat. Have the child sit BACKWARDS on the toilet. Pee goes in the big bowl and NO CLEAN UP!!!

We also had the soft plastic one from wal-mart and I disliked it right away, it was gross to take off the top part and see all that pee sitting under the rim, I finally got the baby bjorn one from babies r us and I love it so far (it has only been 2 weeks) but it has a higher rim on the front which also leads to less mess out the front (for boys) and I just stick it in the tub to clean it and I also rinse it off after each use. I also think it is more comfortable for my son.

Good luck.
