Church Home - McKinney,TX

I am looking for a church home near McKinney, TX. I prefer non-demoninational or Baptist, but with a good mix of different races and cultures. I love good gospel music, and spiritual teaching - as opposed to fire and brimstone preachings with no actual 'spirit' and liveliness in the congregation.

Can anyone recommend such a church for me?

We go to First Baptist Church in Melissa. Check out their website at www.firstmelissa.com and see if you'd like to come. There are 3 different times on Sundays, 9, 10:15 and 11:30. Paster Trey Graham is not fire & brimstone, very educational and makes you think of things in a different way. There has been many times I've thought, Wow! Check us out, we'd love for you to come!

I live in McKinney and attend a great church that seems to fit your needs. HOWEVER, my church is in Wylie. If you are interested, check out Citipointe Church - ###-###-####. (www.citipointe.org) We are off Ballard and Brown near downtown Wylie. (301 N. 1st St.)

My husband, children (kids ages 7-13) and I attend Custer Road United Methodist church in Plano (6601 Custer Road.) We have gone here for over 10 years and love it. It offers so much in the way of small groups, music ministry, wonderful youth program, singles ministry and is mission oriented. Our preacher, Dr. ron Henderson is awesome. He is very filled with the Holy Spirit and does not preach fire and brimstone. Go to: www.crumc.org and check it out! We are having a HUGE outdoor church service in Plano next Sunday, Oct. 3 at Oakpoint Ampitheater in Plano. By the way, we live in Allen and there are many people from McKinney and the surrounding areas! Open Hearts, Open Doors, Open Minds is our motto!

You should visit Covenant Church near the Cinemark on 75 and also McKinney Bible Fellowship on Eldorado near Hardin. It actually sits off the road a bit but you can find it online. Both seem very geared to your requests. Good luck finding a church home. It's always harder that I want it to be when we have moved/changed churches.

Covenant Church is a fantastic church and has a great childrens ministry. We attend the Carrollton campas and love it. We have members from every race and culture there is. Elevate Life Church in Frisco has changed my life. I was always raised in church (Baptist). They tought me just enough to judge other people all my life and never really look at myself. Elevate Life challenges you to be a better person to literally not cast the first stone. The pastor is real big on smart women and strong husbands. He really gets to the core of men about being husbands and fathers and the responsibility that comes with that. He's real big on appropriate guy time together will make it so that you don't crave inappropriate guy time and same thing with the women. It is sooooo awesome. I am 33 and never wanted children before and after 18 months at this church my way of thinking and living has changed and I'm proud to say I am 5 months pregnant and couldn't be happier. It is non-denominational however the pastor was raised baptist and he grew up in OakCliff and we have a very multicultural church. I love it.

We LOVE FBC McKinney. We did just lose our incredible pastor, but we trust that God will provide another solid Bible-teaching pastor in His time. I know some people would leave without a pastor in place, but we are staying because we love our church family so much. We've been there since '02 and I am surrounded by some of the most incredible women. I look up to so many of them and my husband can say the same of the men there.

What initially attracted us, aside from the solid Bible teaching, was the fact that there is a strong childrens ministry. Love that our family can get plugged in so many areas.

We also love the heavy missions emphasis. FBC is one of the most missions sending churches in the country. If you have a heart for the world, you may want to check it out. We'd love to have you! If you want, pm me and I'd love to show you around next Sunday!

Blessings as you go where God leads you. You are surrounded by wonderful churches in the area!
