Chuckee Cheese Birthday Party

We thought we could make it through my son's entire childhood without ever having a bday party at Chuck Cheese, but he's asked for his 5th birthday there. I think Chuck Cheese is one of the worst places for germs and what not, but its his request, so I'm relenting. LOL

I just booked my party on line and if you have your party on a Sunday you get an extra 100 tokens free, plus 20 tokens free for booking it on line (you can still go in to the actual location to pay your $30 deposit instead of putting your credit card info on line). You will get the tokens on the day of the party. Also, its $10.99 per child for the basic party package, which includes 16 tokens per kid, 2 slices of pizza per kid, unlimited drinks and 90 minutes of a secluded (as secluded as it can be) party area. There are also some additional extras that you get, such as a dedicated party person to help you out. You will still need to order pizza for the adults, but I would wait to do that the day of so you know how much you'll need. There are also several perks that the birthday boy will get with the basic pkg, including a bank with addtl tokens for him, a blow up birthday crown with 8 tokens build right in, time with Chucky, etc.

I would say your better off going with the party package on the weekend, because if not, you won't have enough seating for all of your guests and will also have very limited time frame (I think less than one hour on weekends) to enjoy yourselves. As for the cake/ice cream, your better off bringing your own IMO. Their cake and ice cream is very expensive and very plain looking (and in my experience, not very tasty).

Check out Chuck Cheese on line for all the info, but it seemed pretty reassonable to me, especially since the mess will be THERE and you really don't have to do much yourself.

We just had my son's 5th birthday there. It was pretty reasonably priced. I purchased the smaller package which I think was $11.99 a kid. I brought my own party favors and cake. I also brought online coupons to buy extra tokens and pizza / drinks for the adults. There was a coupon for $18.99 which had a large pizza, 4 or 6 drinks, and some tokens. Their adult pizzas to add were $14.99 for a large pizza, so for just $4 more, I got drinks (which would have been $2 a piece and more tokens). They let me use that coupon 3 times to add additional pizzas. I also had some extra ones like Buy 100 tokens, get 100 free. I liked that I could add my own coupons. I also liked that I only had to pay for the kids that actually arrived. The party went smoothly and they all had a blast. I would do one again there. If possible though, I'd try to avoid a weekend. I've heard that place is a nightmare on Saturday and Sunday. We had my son's on a Tuesday night during Christmas break and there were maybe 20 other kids in the entire place. It was perfect.

I had my sons 3rd bday partty at CEC in Nov. I think it was a good idea to get the basic package for each kid. You can be up to 4 off of the head count and won't be charged. Then just order more for adults. I think it was pretty reasonable and you won't have a mess at your house!
P.S. We had a 12pm time slot and it was a good choice because when we went to leave it was getting crowded.

you should find out what all is included in a chuckEcheese birthday package. you might be able to do it more cheaply if you bring your own cake, coupons, etc. and our chuckEcheese opens early, and it's not very crowded then. make it around a lunch time instead of dinner time if your guests can make it then.
