If he has another ring that fits, like a class ring, you can take it and press it into a bar of soap. Then the jeweler can use the imprint to determine his ring size. I read about that as a trick to get a girl's ring size so her boyfriend can buy an engagement ring.

Tell him that you want to make sure what you gets him fits. Tell him you need his neck size hat size shoe size and so on. My husband was tricky one night and was telling me how much he loved me and gave me a peice a yarn and tied it on my finger and said lets see what it is like to be married. So we both wore yarn on our fingers for a day. It was silly but so cute. Then I got this wonderful ring a few weeks later and boy was i clueless. The way that it happened was we got to talking about getting married since i was rescently divorced i was still unsure I wanted that. So he came up with the idea.. Only if I new! LOL... Good luck... Or have is mother/father ask what his ring size is for you! GOOD LUCK!

Does he have a pair of gloves that he wears that seem to fit pretty well? You could put a string around the ring finger of the glove and tell the person that you took the measurement from his glove... so the ring finger measurement would be a bit less than the measurement. Just a thought..... You can always have it resized if its not correct.

I just bought my husband a new wedding band for Christmas, and what I did was paid attention to when he took the ring off. I realized that he always took it off when he put on lotion. One morning I went in while he was putting lotion on and struck up a conversation with him. While I was talking, I just pretended I was playing around with his ring, put it on my pinky and spun it around, etc. Before I set it back down, I put it on my thumb and paid attention to how it caught on my knuckle. From there, I just went in and asked to see their ring size samples, and picked it out. I'm happy to say that I've checked, and it ended up being the exact same size as his old band! And he has no clue!!!

while he is sleeping could you take a piece of yarn or string and wrap it around his finger and then cut it to the length of his finger?
