Christmas CD Suggestions

So every year I think I'm going to buy another Christmas CD, but once I look at them I always think it won't be good. Any suggestions on one where the songs are what you would expect to hear (no strange or obscure songs) and sang the *right* way. I don't like when the performers make up their own melodies or words.

Thanks! I'm getting in the Christmas spirit!

What can I do next?

Charlie Brown's Christmas (all instrumental but fantastic) and Bing Crosby's White Christmas (has Merry Kalikimaca) are my favorites.

Michael Buble. It's Frank Sinatra sounding, the old crooners. If that's your thing.

I heart Josh Groban's Christmas C.D. It is beautiful and our whole family loves it. Another cd that is fun to listen to is the Charlie Brown Christmas. Brings back so many happy memories for me when I was a very, very little child...when Christmas was magical.

Good luck and best wishes on your Christmas quest!!

My favorite Christmas CD is by a young woman named Cathasaigh. Her CD is called Seeking the King, and is beaaaautiful! Her voice is like an angel! So heavenly!

There are a few "unusual" songs on it (two she wrote but they're so gorgeous!), one is in Polish (honors her heritage) and another is a Medieval tune not often heard. But all in all it's one of the best Christmas albums!

You can listen to samples of it here (and email her about purchasing it): http://www.cathasaigh.com/seeking.php

Martina McBride's White Christmas CD is fabulous!

OR stream Pandora . com through your computer and play the MercyMe (Holiday) station. It's wonderful! and you can like or dislike songs and it will play similar or quit playing if you give it a thumbs down.

Celtic Women have a wonderful Christmas CD. It's simply beautiful..You can't go wrong with Nat King Cole, either. My mom always plays it every year, and it brings back so many memories ( along with Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton :) ) . Amy Grant has one out, that is very simple and has all the good songs. I know a lot of the modern groups have one out know. The Killers just came out with one.

I really like Andrae Bocelli, Josh Groban, Nat King Cole, Harry Connick Jr. I used to like Celine Dion but my husband HATES her with a passion. Then that stupid stuff with disgusting R Kelly happened, and I tossed the CD because my favorite song on the disk was a duet with him......but if you like her, I think the CD was pretty.
I also like some instrumentals because they don't get "in the way" at a party or just relaxing.

Mariah Careys Christmas CD is my favorite of all time. I even like the American Idol Christmas CDs. I guess I'm a lame-o but that's ok too.

Six Pence None the Richer's CD is amazing! There are quite a few songs on there were I just almost cry and I am NOT into that type of xmas music usually.

There is one song about the last Christmas of her being pregnant and the line "the last Christmas without you" is so neat
