just wondering if anyone out there who lives in the dallas/fort worth area has signed their baby up with a talent/modeling agency. i have a 7 month old daughter and would love to get her involved in a talent agency. i just think it would be fun for her and if she likes it great and if not then she definitely doesn't have to continue with it.

if you have any advice on what i need to do to start the process i would really appreciate it!

thanks so much

Hey Jen, I don't have a child model but have friends who do and have been told that the Cambell Agency and Kim Dawson are the only place to go in Dallas. They do not charge any fees from you as they get paid by the companies that hire your child. They do not even ask for professional photos. Also look for a licensed agency if you do decide to try some other company. Good luck and I hope to see your little one on the pages of a magazine!

Hi J..
One start might be attending the DallasChild Baby Fair. It's this saturday at the Addison Convention Center. They have a "cover search" along with it. You just sign up online (www.dallaschild.com) for an appointment time for your child to be photographed. It's free, your child could be selected to be on the cover, you would get a chance to see how your child works in that situation, and I believe that you have an opportunity to purchase additional photos if they turn out fabulous!

Just ALWAYS remember that you do not pay anything. If they want your child, they will book your child. No matter what agency. Some agengies will want you to "sign up" for classes. You should have NO expenses.

I modeled as a child and still do on few occasions. Campbell agency and Kim Dawson agency are both good ones here in Dallas.

Enter the contests for your child as well. You can get a good start there if you are chosen or spotted. My daughter ended up in CA on a modeling gig from a Dallas Child entry.

Good luck!!

Cindy and I are friends (first responce)...our boys modeled alot together :)
Those Dallas Child Fairs do cost money. I think it was $30. But I didn't think it was worth it. If they are chosen for a cover though I think agencies will contact you, but they are usually older?
I always tell my friends if you want to see what it is like then you can take my kids...haha At the young age they go with a lot of babies and sit and wait. Then they go through them like cattle if they cry they go onto the next one. You sometimes have to drive far and at this age they only pay $75 hour. Which sometimes you might have 3 a week and sometimes you will not have any for 3 months. They call you the day before and ask you to be downtown or Frisco at 8:00am?? You will have traffic. But, with all that said once your kids are in a national flyer, commercial, or poster thats when you realize it was all worth it :)
Good Luck, and let me know if you have any questions. Forst you need to submit them to the agency and wait for them to call you.

We're involved with The Clutts agency. Remember that anyone asking for money is scaming you. Agencies should only get the standard fee upon booking.
