Welcome to San Antonio,
There are 3 parks I go to Orsinger on Huebner by the railroad tracks. Raymond Russell when I want the kids to ride scooters or look at nature or a park on Evers about a mile off Huebner.
Also just FYI for the area-
The Witte on Broadway is free Tuesday after 3pm- very fun for kids of all ages.
Get a membership to Sea World or Fiesta Texas and the Zoo. It so pays off.
Any more question just ask away....

I am the assistant organizer for a great group of moms called the Stone Oak Moms on Meetup.com. You don't actually hav eot live in the Stone Oak area, but that is where most of our meetings are. I am also a member of M.O.M (Meeting Other Moms) on the same meetup website. They meet on the east side. This group has more boys around your son's age and several full time working moms, so they have afternoon/evening and weekend meetups too.
You can contact me directly as well. I have a newly 4 year old daughter that loves to play with boys too. We are always game for meeting new people. We were new here this ttime last year and it took a while to meet people. Now we have found some really great friends, but it was very hard in the beginning. I understand. It is a lot like dating again, only harder because you have to find someone that you are compatable with AND someone that your children are compatable with too. LOL.
There are many groups availible on Meetup.com if this is too far for you to drive. You can type in your zip code and they will give you tons of groups in your area. Welcome to San Antonio!

My kids' favorite park was Orsinger when they were little.

I found playing with kids in the neighborhood worked better. Kids are out of their element sometimes at a park or at a big place---they don't always engage with each other.

When we moved here, we went for walks and wagon rides around the neighborhood, and met other kids that way. Kids are sometimes friendlier to others when they are closer to home.

Welcome to SA!

Hi A.,

You may want to try meetup.com. You can search for playgroups in and around your area. This is how I found playgroups for me and my two boys.
If you have any questions let me know. I hope this helps.

A new group recently started at www.momsaroundsa.com - great resource and they have links to MOMS groups as well.
Also, check with the homeowners association (if you live in one), churches and elementary schools around your new home. They may have brochures or ads or know someone connected to a play group in your area.
Welcome!
