Children with Morphia a Form of "Scleroderma" Skin Disease

My 6 yr old daughter was diagnosed with Morphia a form of "Scleroderma" about 5 months ago. At that time she only had one area on the trunk of her back that was about the size of a baseball. Now it has spread to other areas on her back. This is such a rare disease in children. I wish I could talk to someone who's child has this or knows someone with this disease. It's so hard to know what to expect or how to prepare my child for this non-curable disease. Is their anyone who might know anything????

What can I do next?

Hi A.,

I cant sympathize but i can empathize. I have been thru alot medically and long story short, I would not hesitate to see a naturopath or homeopath instead of using the (i'm guessing here) creams or prescriptions the doctor has prescribed. I am not saying doctors arent good, I am just saying you have options.
Good Luck

Hi A.,

I have never heard of a child getting this disease. My 65 year old mother was diagnosed with this about 3 years ago. She has it over most of her body. It took some trial and error, but her doctors(an internist, a dermatologist, and at least one other specialist- I can't keep track), finally found a combo of treatments that work for her. Mostly, the creams were ineffective(and they tried lots of them). A combination of light therapy and the chemo pill (I know that sounds scary) have made a huge improvement. Really, the best thing is to learn as much as you can about it, get lots of different medical opinions, and don't be afraid to try different treatments. My Mom found a distributor of Natural(unprocessed)Shea butter, and this has tremendous natural healing properties, there are web sites where you can order it. Look into any food allergies your child may have, as I have heard that this can have a big impact on the severity of the problem. You may want to keep a journal on the products you try, and their effects. Also, I don't want to alarm you, but Morphia can lead to a lot of other health problems, so log any other problems your child is having, and discuss them with a good doctor that you trust. This is a disease that effects the immunity system, so please take extra precautions in limiting her exposure to those who are sick. Morphia can be hereditary, so watch out for signs in other family members, I'm not sure, but I think it mostly effects women. I am so sorry that your family has to deal with this disease! I think the homeopathic path is great, but because of the long list of complications this disease can cause, be sure that you are working with a good medical DR also(this disease is more than just skin deep)! I hope that this has been helpful to you, I'm not sure how much more I can help, but feel free to send me a pm if you want more info on anything I've mentioned.

Dear A.,

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's skin condition. There is nothing like the feeling we have as parents when our children are facing frustrations. Keep the faith and stay positive...I will keep your family in my prayers.
I, also, am the mother of 2 children...a 2 year old boy and a 5 yr old girl. (My hubby is nutty one too - which is one of my criteria...helps in times of stress)
I would recommend Xango, a mangosteen product. I have been taking this product for about a year, for allergies and colitis. My daughter has severe allergies and is off her medications. I have had wonderful results with the Xango by using it topically. Take a bit of the juice and let it sit out and it will thicken into a paste. My father is a veterinarian and very interested in the topical applications of the mangosteen. Another veterinarian I recently spoke with stated "phemnomenal" results with the Xango on an inflammed and infected area of skin on a dog. Xango is developing a xanthone based skincare line this spring and the xanthones are where the medicinal properties lie. Currently, they are conducting research on the mangosteen and skin cancer in humans.
My website is www.choosenature.mymangosteen.com
There is a ton of information on this product.
I would be more than happy to send you some complimentary Xango juice to try on your daughter. Good luck!

A.,
I don't know much about Morphia, but googled it and it looks like it's not very fun to deal with. I have a four year old who has some skin issues and recently had a really bad flare up, all the things the doctors gave me did not work. I tried a natural product called Xango and it cleared it up in five days. I did a little research to see if I could find if it helped with Sclerderma and found things where doctors said it helps with it. I love Xango so much I became a dist. for it. If you want more info on it go to my mamasource link: http://www.mamasource.com/business/7787468744074199041
This is an awesome product and you need to try it for her. There is research done that shows it does help a lot with skin conditions. I have learned that Doctors, although necessary...don't know everything. I agree with the response of the other mom, sometimes the naturpathic route is much more successful than the medical one.
