My nephew went to Children's House for a few years and really loved it. He's a shy kid and very sensitive and he enjoyed the people there very much. Good luck!

Montessouri is a very old program and is not up to date like other programs such as Kinder Care. My friend taught both places and the latter program was much more intensive there are even grade cards to communicate progress.

I dont know about the one off of Randolph Ave, but we are also looking into Montessori schools in and around St. Paul. My in- laws run one in WI and their advise to us was to make sure that we look only at the ones that are accredited either by AMI or AMS. There are a lot of schools that say they are montessori but really are not. The ones that we have either looked at or are going into are. Sunny Hollow Montessori in St. Paul, White Bear Lake Montessori in White Bear Lake and then Oak Hill Montessori in Shoreview. All three are AMI accredited. Best of luck to you, I hope this helps.

Hi, T.!

My advice is a little dated - but when I was looking for Montessori schools in St. Paul for my girls when they were little, we toured all of them up in that area, and fell in *love* with Sunny Hollow over on Mississippi River Blvd. It's in the same building as the temple over there. They've changed directresses several times since then, though - and I don't know how they're run now - but if Jennifer is still a teacher there then you have to know at least *some* things have remained excellent. It was a little more expensive than some of the other ones, but the programs they offered were worth it and the quality of the education provided was bar none.

My girls are 11 and 13 now and they *still* comment and remember fondly their time at Sunny Hollow.

No clue about Children's House, but as I am a product of Montessori education, and my children attend(ed) McDonald Montessori School on Western Ave., I am a huge proponent of the methodology. The idea of teaching life skills and being child-centered with the teacher as the facilitator instead of the source for all knowledge is, to my mind, a GREAT way to get children interested in learning.
