Child Frienly Restaurant

My sister and I get together with our extended family for dinner once a month and we are looking for more kid-friendly restaurants in the twin cities area. We have 6 kids ranging from 16 down to 18 months. Someplace with good food, fun for kids with room to roam, and is a relaxing environment for the older adults. Any suggestions?

Has anyone ever tried Dave and Buster's? There's one up in Maple Grove, and I know it has lots of video games and the like (sort of like GameWorks downtown) that the kids (and adults!) can play while everyone else relaxes at the dinner table. Something different! I also second the Buca idea - super family friendly - however, I don't think there's a whole lot of room to roam!! Otherwise, most Mexican restaurants tend to be very family friendly, and they seem to be able to get the food out fast, which is the best when there's kids around. Good luck and let us know what you find!

We just tried Fuddrucker's which wasn't one of our favorites, however it might become one. The kids loved the games, there was plenty of room to run, and it was noisy enough that it didn't matter if the kids were screaming. The food wasn't too bad either. We also like The Machine Shed in Lake Elmo/Oakdale. They offer tractors for the kids to play with and deliver the kids meals in little wagons.

We love the Chatterbox Pub in Highland Paul (in St. Paul). They are great with kids, they have board game and old Atari/Nintendo games, lots of room to run and decent food.

I like to go to Buca with extended family. They have a few locations around the cities. You can order entrees family style and the environment is loud and boisterous. The food is really good and we all enjoy it.

Definitely give Red Robin a try. They are definitely kid friendly! They will start you out with an endless basket of french fries, which tends to keep the kids busy and happy! The wait staff there are great with kids. They might have more than one location - but we always go to the one in Shoreview (694 and Lexington).

St. Clair Broiler on Snelling and St. Clair in St. Paul serves a great menu, and they're family friendly! They serve breakfast all day long, but they also have a great fish-fry on Fridays. It's super low-key and very affordable as well.

I've only been to Fuddruckers once, and it was several years ago, but it was very kid friendly, the food was great, and they have an arcade for older ones.
