I want to get a bike seat for Father's Day for my son to go on bike rides with us. I looked on Consumer Reports and didn't see any reviews! Does anyone have a recommendations? I can get an Bell for a good price.

I just bought a bike seat for my son. We ended up getting a "Wee Ride" - it's mounted on the rail between your seat and handlebars, so your kid can see what's going on. Great for balance on the bike, too. There are a couple of other front mounted seats (the other one we seriously considered was the "ibert"). You can find good product reviews of these two, plus all of the usual rear-mounted ones on amazon.com. I am very happy with the Wee Ride, but it will not work if you have a road bike where you're really crouched over.

We just purchased the Bell Cocoon, I love the surround shape to keep them safe. We had to make a couple of adjustment to have it fit on my husbands mountain bike, but it works great and it has been fun so far. The only issue so far is that my daughter plays with my back and pants which can be distracting. She loves the ride though and has been asking to go "wee" every day.

I also have a Wee Ride; we bought it last year when my daughter turned 1. It will take a child up to 40 pounds. Since your child is 2, you may only get a year's use out of it, but considering the low price, it may be justifiable. Then you could sell it on Ebay when you upgrade to the trailer bike carrier that you'll need once your son is older.

We have the Bell Cocoon and have used for 1.5 years with my daughter. We like it. The harness is good and I like the high back on it. Don't know what kind of bikes you have, but it does work better on my mountain bike (smaller frame than road or cross bike) than it does on my husband's, since he's a lot bigger than me. Definitely not meant for a mountain bike, but it does work.
