I'm looking for a good case for my son's IPod Touch. I'm wondering if there is something that is just as good (or almost as good) as Otterbox. He has a 4th generation, so there probably aren't too many options. If Otterbox really is the best, we might get it for him for Christmas.
What has worked for you?
The only placed I've checked is Amazon, but I will go out tomorrow. The problem really is just that he has the 4th generation, so it's outdated and there aren't many cases available. Most manufacturers have stopped making them for the 4th gen. My son really wants a blue case, and Amazon only has grey, green and red options. Might still get him one of those, but I thought I'd ask what other brands are also very rugged.

I have used these type of cases for 2 years, $40 to $60 cheaper than an otterbox and every bit as good.

I believe she has a purple one...but this is what I remember seeing.
Go to Amazon and get it. If you shop around online you can get one for way less than retail. That's how I buy them for my kids' smartphones (and my own). Bought the Defender case for the iphone 5S for like $16 off of Groupon. In stores it's closer to $60.

Check out http://www.dx.com/ I ordered my kids cases for the iPods and iPad from here and they were really inexpensive. I don't know if they have something like an Otterbox, but you can check it out.
Have you checked Best Buy or somewhere like that. They usually have a lot of options. I just have a bright colored rubber case covering it and that has worked well for us. I do have an Otterbox on the iPad mini and so thankful it's there.
I do have an Otterbox on my iPhone so they probably make them for the iPod too.
