Does anybody have any information about Carlton Elementary? We're considering a purchasing a home that feeds into that school, and I would be interested in any and all feedback. Thanks!

What can I do next?

E.,

I am a realtor in the area and I know many families are happy with this school. I am also considering buying a home in the area. The school has an 876 API score and Union Elementary district is considered a highly desirable district which makes real estate in the area very attractive. Clients of mine that are very concerned with schools requests schools with an API score of 850+. Check out other API scores of schools in the area at: http://agent.interorealestate.com/schools.aspx?&ID=1587 under "Santa Clara county API".

This probably doesn't help, but I use to go there about 20 years ago! I love it!

You can find informaton about the school at: http://dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/. This site will have demographics, test scores, etc. You could also arrange for a visit to the school; principals are usually happy to have a family tour to get a "taste" of the school.

I'm a Realtor in LG. All my clients that start out looking in Los Gatos but find it just a little out of reach I point to the Union District. It's wonderful. There's a lot of parent involvement at Carlton, Alta Vista, etc. Everyone I know in those areas are thrilled with their neighborhoods and choice of schools. congrats on the new house. Are you getting the house on Adair? I can introduce you to your neighbors who are great friends of mine. Good luck!!

Hi E.,
I have 2 sons and my older one is in the 1st grade at Carlton.
This is our first year there because we moved into our house
last August. We moved because we wanted our children to go to
the Union school district because of the strong community and
schools. I absolutely LOVE his teacher and it's a really good school. Because we're new to the school, I wanted to get involved. I volunteer 3 times a week in my son's class and
this way, I get to know the children and their families. Carlton encourages parent volunteers and yesterday they had
a "Volunteer Tea" thanking everyone that helped this year.
My younger son will be starting Kindergarten in the fall and
it will be nice to have both of them at the same school.
I hope this helps and please feel free to ask me any more questions. Good luck!

Hi E.,

My niece and nephew attend Carlton. My sister is happy with it. Actually, they were scheduled for Altavista but it was full. However, they love Carlton. I attend most school functions and everyone is great. The area is great too. Sorry, can't be any more help. B.
