Car That Can Fit Three Car Seats?

I would reccommend a minivan. You can fit all of the car seats and still have room for other adults to travel along with you.

Look for a minivan. There are some that are pretty affordable. I have a Dodge Grand Caravan and it has tons of space. The SXT model has the stow and go seating and it is a miracle! I can fit 4 carseats and a double and a single stroller in the back. (I have two children and I frequently watch my niece and nephew) Gas mileage is decent as well.

CONGRATULATIONS ON #3 A van with the stow-n-go seats would work. If you put both older kids in the back row and stow one middle row captian chair it would make buckling easy in back. Then the new baby can be in the other middle row chair for easy access. hope this helps, J.

well lol i was in your situation i have a 3 year old a 21 month old and i just baby #3 in nov and my hubby has a dodge and i had a ford so he got me a minivan from chrysler they are awesome and they can fit 7 people my older boys sit in the back and the baby baby sits in the seat directly behind me, these are cheap minivans and well worth the price

Hi M. - I have a Hyundai Santa Fe that I LOVE!!! It fits 3 teenagers in the back seat comfortably in seat belts, so I don't understand why it wouldn't fit 3 car seats ;-) Car Max is an AWESOME place to purchase a vehicle for a good price at only a couple of years old with good mileage and no accidents. I have a Ford Freestar and I love it! It works great for my 3 kids plus I can put the seats down to transport larger objects. You can buy them used with no extras pretty reasonably. I bought mine used but it has a dvd player which is a blessing in disguise. Look around online and price them before you start looking though.

OH I KNOW I HAVE A DURANGO TO AND WHAT A GAS HOG. IT GETS 9 MILES PER GALLON. I NEVER THOUGHT THAT I WOULD WANT A CARAVAN, BUT NOW I DO! IT HAS WAY MORE ROOM THAN THE DURANGO AND IS WAY BETTER ON GAS. I GOT A USED CHRYSLER TOWN & COUNTRY. IT'S GREAT, IT HAS THE REMOTE SLIDING DOORS AND EVEN THE TRUNK IS REMOTE TO OPEN AND CLOSE. MY HUSBAND OWNS A USED CAR LOT SO I GOT TO TRY OUT DIFFERENT VEHICLES AND I LIKED THE TOWN & COUNTRY THE BEST! WELL HAVE FUN CAR HUNTING!! K.

I'd definitely buy used, and buy either a van as first choice, or a larger station wagon as a second choice. We bought a Ford Taurus wagon this year, and love it, so if you really like your Taurus, consider buying a Taurus wagon. It isn't any longer than the sedan, either (really!). You could put the younger kids in the middle, and the oldest in the back. The last year they produced them was in 2004, but we got our 2004 SEL with low miles, still under warranty, leather, a 6 disc CD player, and some other great features for under $14,000. We looked at the minivans, but they are just more what we needed. The minivan that had the highest safety rating was made by Kia, but Nissan, Toyota, and Honda all have great track records and good products (although the prices reflect that). Two great places to get info: consumerreports.org (need membership, but when you are spending this kind of money it is worth it), and edmonds.com. A good place to find a lot of cars in the area when you narrow down what you want is carsoup.com.

I suggest a mini-van as a first choice because you are not going to want to try to get a kid in and out of a middle seat, and as they grow, they are going to have more and more stuff, so you'll need the room. Plus, if you do end up having more kids, you are set. You won't have to go out and buy another vehicle again. That's my two cents. Congratulations, and good luck!

We have four kids and I drive a Ford Freestar - I'm not necessarily recommending that particular van, but I'd definitely recommend a mini-van of some sort because you have so many possibilities. You're able to get the kids in and out easily and you have the option of toting other kids if necessary - in a few years you'll have play dates and friends to be driving around and you'll be thankful you have the extra space. Besides, it's nice to have the space for strollers and other kid gear.

Also, look online and buy USED - we bought NEW and I regret it - when I look online to see what we could have bought for used, I am sickened that we spent way too much. With the high turn over of people who lease, there are tons of good, certified good vehicles out there. Wish I had listened to my own advice! :)

I'd go with a van the kids will get bigger and then it's not just three car seats it's all their stuff and friends ect. my friends grand prix does fit three car seats pretty easily but buckling that middle seat in a car isn't fun nomatter what. good luck and congrats.

HI. I used to have a Ford Taurus, it fit 3 car seats just fine. Car seats are made differently, so you may just have to find ones that fit together side by side. By the time the baby comes around, your oldest child should be able to go in a booster seat w/the back, so that will save a lot of room.

I do agree with the Grand Caravan (dodge) we love ours, and it works really well for the kids. I put the twins in the back, have the seat behind the driver seat down and left the oldest behind the passenger seat. Thought with the little ones in back, with the seat folded into the floor was in bad weather, could put them in van, then worry about situating everyone in car seats.

However, if you want a car. We have the Hyundai Elantra for my car (hubby gets the van). I can fit 3 seats in the vehicle. I did it with a friends kids and my oldest son, and her car seats were very different than mine. It works with the kids now too. Everyone is surprised that it permits, three, but our eddie bauer is bulky, then we just use the infant seats on both sides.

I have heard RAVE reviews about the Kia mini van. I know...it's Kia...but at $19,000 brand new and an amazing warrenty...it's affordable and everyone I know that has it LOVES it. I even know a person rather high up at P&G that lives by this mini van...they could afford other cars...I mean seriously...they paid cash for it (hmmm to dream of such a thing).

The best van to get would be a newer Dodge Caravan (that is what I have for my children). I only say this because it has the child seats in the seats of the van and there is room in the back to put one more child seat in their. It has a lot of room and it was reasonably priced for my income. Look around I would suggest. I got mine in oregon, ohio (used) for a little over $10,000

Coincidentally, my husband and I (both from big families) were just talking about how people have to have smaller families now because the law requires them to all be strapped down... not flopping around around piling on top of eachother like when we were kids.

We have a Ford FreeStyle, which is more SUV/station wagon'ish than a mini van but has some of the same features. We used to have a Chrysler Town and Country (which I also liked) but when it was time to turn it in, we opted for the FreeStyle because it gets better gas mileage (if you go for 2wheel drive rather than 4WD) and we got a few more features for our money.

It has the split middle row and the 3rd row of seats so you can get to the child in the "way back" easily. Also, you can just put 1/2 the 3rd row down if you need more room for groceries.
