Hey Mamas,

I need to buy a forward-facing car seat for my 1 year old to put in my 4dr sedan, and do you have any recommendations? Anyone particularly pleased with a brand they've used or displeased? I've just started looking and need some help. TIA!

: ) A.

What can I do next?

Well, rear faceing is the safest position for your child to ride in for as long as he can ( as long as your car seat will allow your child to ride rear faceing).

I use the BRITAX car seats and would reccomend two different options for you. First, you could buy the BRITAX MARATHON and use it rear faceing until your child is 33 pounds then turn him around (or if you must you could just use it forward faceing until he is 65 pounds, 5 point harness until 65 pounds)

OR you could buy the BRITAX REGENT and its the last car seat you will have to buy. your son can ride in the REGENT 5 point harness car seat until he weighs 80 pounds! You will never need a booster and you use the 5 point harness all the way up to 80 pounds. My 5 year old useing the REGENT and loves it. I paid 200.00 on EBAY for a brand new in the box Regent including shipping.

I use both the Marathon and the Regent in my SUV and I love both of them! the Britax car seat is the only seat I would ever trust. They are built to european standards that are way higher than the US car seat safety standards.

Also,People please check your car seat weight limits in POUNDS not KG the ROUNDABOUT is the smaller one and does not go up to 70 pounds (I have one) they only go up to 45 pounds. The Marathon goes to 65 and the Regent goes to 80. They also make a special needs car seat that goes to 110. I have been using the BRITAX car seats for almost 6 years and I currently own 6 of them, 3 in each car.

That is my oppinion, hope it helps!

Britax, Britax, Britax... I love mine. I had orginally bought an evenflo, but hated it. It did not position my dd right, no matter what I did. It was an odd shape, and took FOREVER to install. I took it back and went with what I should of done in the first place. Bought the Britax Marathon. It is so easy to install correctly, and my dd fits perfectly, even when she was smaller to now. It is worth the extra money and has good reviews, consistenly. When talking to employees at Babies R Us they said that the evenflo has the worst complaints from other shoppers.

Besides all that, looks wise, the Britax is the most beautiful!!!! :)

We use the Britax Boulevard and love it. It's comfy for baby and he easily falls asleep in it. It feels really sturdy and installs easily. It gets top ratings for safety (which is why I picked it). I have another on child on the way and will definitely buy another. I highly recommend it. It's worth the expense.

The BRITAX Boulevard fits nicely in my Jetta. It's the safest seat out there. It's somewhat of a pain getting my son in and out of it, but that's a price worth paying for his safety. It goes up to 65 pounds and 49", also. He seems to enjoy riding in it, too. :)

I'd recommend the Britax Roundabout Convertible Car Seat. They're easy to use and rated the safest car seats. They go up to 70 lbs. You can buy them at Babies R Us or online on their website. They're about $220 but definitely worth it. I've seen some on ebay too for a good price and in great condition.

We use the Evenflo Triumph DLX with our twin boys. We actually have 2 in my car and the same 2 in my husbands car. We were initially going to go with the Britax. However at the time we were switching Evenflo just came out with this new version and we were looking at it after reading reviews and it was 1/2 the price and got better reviews than Britax. I have to say that I think some go straight for the Britax because of the price and think its better. We love you Evenflo!!!!! I say go for this one!!!
