Car Seat Advice - Keller,TX

We've all been told that the middle is the safest place for an infant, and when I only had one child (and 2 kids) and a smaller car, that's just what I did. But now we have 3 and a Sequoia and there was no way I could hoist that infant seat over another car seat to put it in the middle every time we got in the car! My kids are 8, 4 1/2, and 2, and my thinking now is to have the smaller ones who are in the 5-point harnesses with more side impact protection by the windows since they're more secure in their seats than the oldest in just a booster and a seat belt as far as side to side motion if we were to be in a crash. I'm with Lynn M. that your 18 mo should be in the middle, the baby behind the driver, and the 3 yo behind the passenger. Good luck!

The safest spot in a car is the middle of the back seat. I am not suggesting you pick who should be safest but infants don't have the back/neck stability and strength that older kids have so the infant should be in the middle if possible. If not, the next best place for them would be behind the driver. I would personally put the youngest in the middle, the 3 yr old behind the passenger seat, and the 18 month old behind the driver.

If you need a particularly narrow model, you might check out European made brands. I've always liked Graco, but when we were moving to Italy, we were looking at one that had the Ferrari name on it. Can't remember who the manufacturer was. We've always had the youngest in the middle. Now that she's 2 we're thinking of moving around the seating arrangement, though. Congratulations!

Not sure how wide your seats are but a Graco Infant carrier should fit between the Radians. I would have the oldest on the outsides and the baby in the middle.

It puzzles together best to have FF-RF-FF, so that would put the baby in the middle rear facing in an infant seat. If it all fits no matter what way you puzzle, then it should be the least protected child (in this case your 18 mo old FF-ing) in the most protected spot (center)

I think that you can go to BRU and take them out to your car to see what fits in it. As far as positions, I was told that backwards is the safest direction and the center is the safest position. It was recommended to me that I put the backward ones NOT in the center, and the forward one in the center, that way they both get protection. That was from the carseat installers at the hospital. You may want to call or stop by and ask them for recommendations on positioning for 3.
