My husband and I have been insured with them for the last 5 years. We have never had an accident, so I can't speak to that, but we have been very happy with them.

You need to make sure that you are getting the right amout of coverage...if you get something cheaper but then later you may need to file a claim only to find out that you do not have the same coverages...be careful that you understand what you are getting with Progressive.

I've never had Progressive, but I worked for a Personal Injury lawyer in Maryland and we always found the Progressive was one of the most difficult companies to work for when it comes to settling claims. Allstate, State Farm and Nationwide were easy to deal with when it came to claims. Progressive might be cheaper, but make sure the benefits out way the potential sacrifice. My parents parked car got hit by someone with Progressive. It took them over 18 months to settle a claim for less than $1000. I couldn't imagine if there was significant damage or bodily injury. Personally, I wouldn't go with a company that didn't have a agent that I can talk to or visit. I think sometimes companies with call centers lack in the customer service department.

You need to go into DATCU Credit Union and check our their insurance department. They will give you a quote after comparing quite a few companies and get you the best coverage for the cheapest price. They have saved me over $400 a year on my car and house!! They have offices in Denton (3), Flower Mound, Lewisville, The Colony, Aubrey and Decatur. Their phone number is ###-###-####. Worth your time to check them out!!

Given that we live in Texas, do your research and do some major comparison shopping, we have pretty high premiums for homeowners insurance compared to the majority of the country. I've dealt with Progressive after being rear ended and they weren't bad, they were fairly efficient at paying out for my car repairs without much issue. But I also think that the guy that hit me was pretty helpful and informative to them as well.

We have Progressive Renters and Car Insurance.
My car was parked and someone backed in to it. I called, they have a service centre where we took the car, they dealt with the repair, and I drove off in a rental car. I picked my car up at the end of the week. I did have to pay my deductable. My experience was hassle free. Service was prompt and efficient. They are helpful on the phone. Can't say I've had a bad experience yet, and we've been with them almost 5 years. I was with Allstate - because I liked the guy from The Unit!

I have been with progressive for about 8 years and they are amazing. No hassles when you put your car in after an accident. I love them since I am kinda accident prone. Make sure you are getting all the coverage you need. I have 250,000 500,000 and 250,000 for all my coverages and it has paid off. they handle any attorneys fees. Make sure that you have the rental car coverage.

You should check out Dan Steele. He's with State Farm. He treated us fairly, gave us some insights into our coverages, knows all the differences in the various companies' policies, and even came to our home to accommodate our schedule.

fwiw, we found out the hard way that you need to closely look at the policies, they aren't always apples to apples. I know an Allstate agent who said she (and several of her agent friends) insure their home with State Farm because the coverage is better.

I compared prices recently, and Progressive was not the cheapest. Farmers and State Farm were relatively inexpensive. AAA was not too far behind, but some of the ones that advertise they are cheap, were the most expensive. I like to have an agent that I can call and who (more or less) knows my situation. Does Progressive do home? MIL had Mercury and HATED them, as have others.

We had progressive they paid quickly on hail damage repair claim but when my husband was rear ended they under valued the repair for his Nissan Truck which made it hard to get it repaired at the facility they suggested. We switched to Geico and our rates are much more affordable and we have more coverage.

Please call my friend/agent David Huck. He's an insurance broker, which means he doesn't represent one company. He will research the different coverages for you and provide you with the various quotes for you to decide. He does not cost you anything. We were will Allstate for years, but he saved us $1,200 per year by going with Travelers, and we got better coverage! I've recommended him to clients and he saved one $800 per year and another $400. It's definitely worth calling him. His number is ###-###-#### or ###-###-####. Good luck!
