Ok,

I recently got out of a relationship with my fiance in March and we did not have any sex since February. 2 months later I came into contact with a guy that I have known since last year and we ended up having sex. and around 2 weeks later I started my period as well as itching.

I went to they gyno and she told me from the looks of it I may have BV but will not know for sure until the labs come back. Well, the labs came back yesterday and was told that I contracted Trich.

I confronted the guy and he said that he has nothing and only been with his girlfriend and me. The girlfriend also said that she has know symptoms and both went for a full STD check today.

From my understanding, the virus take 5 to 28 days to progress so it is impossible to get it from my ex when we had sex months ago. Also my symptoms were nothing like TRICH. I has a slight itch and watery discharge. I was not stinging when urinating

I have been treated for the infection last week. the labs came back yesterday and please no harsh judgment as I am already going through much now.

I am not the only woman that has unprotected sex with a guy friend. This a mom forum with women who are pregnant or have kids. I am very sure that babies do not drop out of the sky

What can I do next?

To answer you question, no. Just because you don't like the diagnosis doesn't make it wrong, sorry. You were treated and it is gone. Why exactly do you care at this point? Do you want to think you had sex with an amazing guy that wouldn't put you in danger or an STD. I mean do you hope to continue having sex with him?

Don't make excuses like the labs might be wrong. If you want to continue the relationship then do it. You don't need us to approve of it

Trichomoniasis is the most common curable STI there is - it is a parasite, not a virus. I'm sure you had this diagnosed by a laboratory test so I would trust that over symptoms you may have read about. Usually there are no symptoms and it can be longer than 28 days from infection. Regardless, you need to be treated and advise sexual partners so it is't a merry-go-round of infections. Don't argue, just get treated and hope this is all you caught from your reckless behavior.

What is your question? How did you get it? Well, you had unprotected sex with someone who was infected. Not sure if it was the ex, the rebound or his girlfriend. At this point, it doesn't matter. I wouldn't have sex with any of them ever again. Remember, every time you have unprotected sex, you are having sex with them and every partner THEY ever had sex with. I would make sure that any future partner was clean OR have condoms in your purse.

Not everyone is going to have the same symptoms. Since this was confirmed by the doctor and labs, take the medication. After you complete the meds, I would get retested just to be sure the little critters are gone.

Your health is very important. This is something that is highly curable. Some STDs aren't.

As a side note, no I have NEVER had sex with a guy friend. I have had sex with one person, my husband.

Babies certainly don't drop of of the sky.
But women don't all hop into bed with lots of partners who may be doing the exact same thing either.
Every time you have sex with someone - with all the germs and body fluids that get passed - it's like having sex with everyone THEY have had sex with.
It's an awful sort of Russian roulette to be playing.
This is why being in a committed relationship is so healthy for everyone involved.
Get treated and no more sex until you're cured and then insist on condoms.
Protection protects you from more than just pregnancy.
You're lucky you caught something curable - AIDs or herpes isn't.

If it were me, and I was tested (they saw the parasite under the microscope) I'd assume the test was correct.

If I had any doubts, I'd get retested. However, regardless, I'd take the antibiotics and just be done with it.

ETA: Saw your little added on bit. I think if you come to a new site and say you caught an STD from having sex with a guy you're not involved with, who is involved with someone else ... you have to expect that some will suggest you practice safe sex. No one's judging.

Not sure what the babies not dropping out of the sky means, but have you considered that maybe this guy isn't being truthful? I'm not sure from what you are saying, but did HE tell you that the GF has no symptoms? Did only HE tell you they went for testing?

If I were you, I'd take all the medication the doc gives you and then go back for a follow-up and discuss the timeline here. Make sure you aren't douching.

It is important to understand what happened to you. But you cannot know for sure the truth of what this guy (or this couple) says...

get treated, and dont' have unprotected sex, the symptoms are not going to be the same for every person who has it. our bodies are all different and react to viruses and bacteria differently so its pointless to compare symptoms because its going to be different even for twins.

How frustrating for you! I guess things can be misdiagnosed, but I'd also ask the doctor if something can lie dormant a little longer than the usual time frame, and perhaps be set off by another infection at the same time. Mostly, I'd see if the treatment works. If it does, it was probably an accurate diagnosis, and someone either isn't telling the truth or the timetable of 5-28 days is a little off. If you don't get relief of symptoms, then you need to be reexamined/retested and treated for something else. Good luck!

Welcome to mamapedia, B..

Why did you have unprotected sex? This MIGHT have been avoided if you had had protected sex.

Get a second opinion. Get treated either way.

Don't have unprotected sex.

Good luck!

If he is dishonest enough to cheat on his girlfriend, i think he could be dishonest enough to lie about STD's. How on earth did he get away with asking his girlfriend to get tested? That would be admitting he is sleeping around.

Hey you guys, it's Been. As turns out he indeed had Trich. Once I told him he and gf went to get tested. Long story short they both had it. Who given it to who is unknown. I learned a life lesson and I should have known better than to believe a man and not wear a condom. He had a gf and I should of went the other way. Thanks for the responses

You should ask your doctor about the mismatch of symptoms. From my perspective, you did the right thing and informed your partners (ask your doctor if you need to put your ex on that list and if so, call and tell him). Beyond that, I think you should stop worrying about where/how you got it, and make sure you work with your doctor on getting well.

If the lab test said it was that then it's that.

I googled it and most of the people that have it don't even know because it's the one that has the least symptoms.

Take your antibiotics and get well. Next time there's a moment of passion just remember that almost every person has something and it can be passed to you.

Well, I guess you have learned to have unprotected sex only with a guy that is tested. Sounds a lot of effort but it's not uncommon anymore.

However, it would be a red flag to be intimate with a guy that is already with someone. It's not worth it on many levels. Does the girlfriend know now that you are in the picture? I hope she is not accusing you for having TRICH.

Good luck!
Make sure your next guy is using a condom and if you decide to go unprotected you both should get tested again to have a healthy start into a relationship!
