Can I get pregnant while breastfeeding my 4 mth old daughter exclusively, While me and my husband use condoms as a birth control?? I've had 2 previous Emergency C-Sections, and lately I've been feeling a brush like in my stomach. The last time I felt the brush was when I WAS pregnant. Also, the tiredness. hungery. Or maybe it's just in my head, or maybe i'm starting to get feeling back, which i get but not fully back, just numb in some places in that area. Or nervous coming back.

What can I do next?

Unfortunately, no form of birth control is 100%. The only thing that really prevents pregnancy is abstinance. My dad had a vasectomy and 10 years late my mom got pregnant again.

Yes, you can get pregnant while exclusively breast feeding your 4 month old daughter. One of my co-workers got pregnant right after delivery. They had their second baby 9 months, almost to the day, after the birth of their first baby. I've heard other moms say that they got pregnant while breastfeeding. Medical literature reports that it's essential to use adequate birth control even tho one is nursing. I think that most moms do not get pregnant but it's possible.

I don't want to alarm you. You have a greater likelihood of not being pregnant but you could be.

It is very possible. i have a friend who she was pregnant within 6-10 weeks after giving birth to 3 or her 4 children. So all her kids aren't far apart. i know someone else who was pregnant at 4 months after giving birth. They both breastfeed exclusivly.

Breastfeeding, is just one form of birth control, and as we all know no birth control is 100%. So it is possible. I would say give it another week or 2 and see how you feel,. if the feeling doesn't go away, get a test and check it out.

you can ovulate and still not have your period at times. I breastfeed exclusively for the first 7 months, but i started ovulating at about 3 months. I know because i took my temp everyday, since i didn't want to go on birth control. And i did have the changes in temp that come with ovulation, but i didn't start having my period until my daughter was about 6 months.

You can def get pregnant while breastfeeding. While it does suppress ovulation to some degree, it varies from woman to woman. And it highly depends on how often baby is eating. You need to breastfeed literally around the clock, something like every 2 hours for it to truly be an effective form of bc. And I still wouldn't trust it lol! You can ovulate and get pregnant before you ever get your first period. I got my period back with my daughter at around 4 months because she had started sleeping for longer periods of time around 7 weeks.

Take a pregnancy test just to set your mind at ease. Chances are you aren't pregnant if you have been using condoms correctly.

Trust me it is possible i know from experience. I exclusively breastfed my son and got pregnant again when he was just 2 months old while using low dose birth control pills and condoms. My husband and i now have a 20 month old boy and a 9 month old girl (11 months and 3 days apart). Go have a visit with your OB and have a blood test done if you think you are.

If you're having sex you can get pregnant. That's just that.

Now fortunately if your breastfeeding and using condoms it's not very likely, but also not impossible. get yourself a test and then get some more reliable birth control. There are options that don't interfere with your milk production.

Good luck!

Yes!!! It's not likely, but it's possible. A friend gave birth to her daughter, and by the time her daughter was 7 months old, she was 5 months pregnant with her son. She had no clue since she was breastfeeding exclusively!

You can absolutely get pregnant while breastfeeding. Although your breasts are feeding another being, your reproductive system is still intact. Go to your ObGyn and check out the birth control options asap.

I don't know about everyone, but I nursed all 3 of my children for over 2 years each and I didn't get pregnant while nursing. I realize that not everyone is the same so maybe you should be using protection if you don't want to get pregnant right away. I also didn't menstrate as long as I was nursing.

Well yes you can get pregnant with both of those. Sure the odds are reduced greatly with each of those and even better with both... but you still could.

So I'd take a test. What can it hurt if you really are having all those symptoms you would be rather far along so you would def get a positive. Just put your mind at ease.

If you're using condoms and you don't check each time for leaking, it is absolutely possible. Go ahead and check, at least for your peace of mind.

I would say that the chances are slim. It is possible, and I've heard that right after delivery you are very fertile. If it brings you any comfort I experienced the flutter several times after my first. She is almost 4 now, and I am just now pregnant with my second. My husband and I only used condoms while I nursed because what was presented for options for birth control by my doctor were not options for me personally. I would say to relax and wait and see what happens. If you are that concerned pick up a home test.

Yes, it can happen. I have a friend whose children are 13 months apart and my SIL got pregnant with her third while BF -- ended up BF all through pregnancy and then BF two at the same time.

YES you can get pregnant while breastfeeding. Breastfeeding is NOT A FORM of birth control. As the Duggers (LOL). No seriously, that is a Myth. A myth that started because many women have delayed resuming of menstration while they are breastfeeding. When your first period will come is always a mystery. I got mine 4 months Post Partum with baby # 1 and 13 months postpartum with baby #2. It is job stability for me; (women who thin brestfeeding is birth control; lol), See you ovulate appx. 2 weeks prior to the start of your period. If you get pregnant during this ovulation, you would have never gotton a period to know. Now do know that "flutter" motion you speak of can be felt at other times during your cycle and does not mean you are prgnant. Now your use of condoms is the same protection as when not breastfeeding and they work if used properly and used EVERY time from the start of penetration. So if you are responsible condom users and it never broke, I would dismiss the flutters and chalk up the other symptoms to being a new mom. If you have any questions about the use, then take a test and make sure. Then use the condoms each time every time from erection on and be sure it is on correctly and you are fine. cONGRATS ON YOUR BABY btw & Happy Mother's Day.
