My youngest son will be 17 mos. in a week (3rd kid). My scar has been itching so bad this week! It has never itched this far out w/ the other 2. Any one else have this problem, so long after surgery? Thanks.
** No tanning, the only thing different , is I have been taking pilates for a few weeks now. I don't know if that could be stretching the scar? I wouldn't think that would have anything to do w/ it but only thing different I can think of.
I never heard of that happening so long after a c-section. Have you tried Cortaid?
You might want to have your doctor look at it if that doesn't help.
Yes, my c-section scar itched on and off for close to 3 years. That part of my body has not seen the light of day in forever! :)
I had tingling, sharp pains, and itching up to a year after both of my c-sections. My OB told me that was normal.
My latest c-scar is 21 months tomorrow and still itches quite frequently. and the one before that did sometimes too for 10 years! Mine keloid scarred so is really bad - and the last time there was a bunch of infected spots that have their own special scarring. it's full of character!
I wouldn't be surprised if the stretching of the scar is causing the itching. I'm only 12 months out from my only c-section, so I can't say except that at 12 months, mine still itches! (I am also six month prego, so I'm sure the stretching has something to do with it).
Have you been tanning? I didn't have a c-section but my knee scars itch when I tan.
My son is almost 2 now and my still itches on occasion...and my ob said it was normal!
