Bunk Bed Option

I did and I loved it. My daughter was about 4 I think - it has rails on the top and it is the kind with a desk on one side and a dresser on the other, could be used as a loft bed if you didn't want to put the bottom bed in. It is great.

If you are interested, it was new for around $1400, we just moved and don't have room for it, PM me, I am in Lodi, not too far from you and would be willing to sell it! I can send you pictures too......if you aren't interested, that is fine too, no worries, but I loved the bunk bed and so did she!

Agree with Linda P. We got ours at Wal-Mart....did 'ding' up a tiny bit (only have my daughter in the twin right now until son is out of crib) but holds up very well to a 2 and 4 year old jumping on it and mommy and daddy sitting on the bed with both kids reading a book. I think with shipping it was like $180.....we bought it in cherry (can't remember the actual brand).

I've seen some nice ones at Costco when they have their furniture events. We got ours at Ikea and are very happy with it.
For our son, though, we got one where we didn't have to put in the bottom bed platform, so it looks like a loft bed, but not so high. My son's been sleeping in it since he was about 5 with no problems.

I would recommend getting bunk beds that can be taken apart and used as 2 regular twin beds. We got bunks and wound up not liking them.
Also, when you shop for bunk beds, compare the headroom that the person on the bottom bunk gets- they can vary quite a bit.

when i was a kid we had a wooden one that would come apart if necessary. get one of those! I was the top bunk sleeper and started at around age 3. we have a metal one right now and it's the pits. when someone is sleeping in the upper bunk and rolls over the whole bed moves. the metal ladder hurts the feet not to mention what the bed does when someone is going up and down. we finally just decided to use the upper as "storage" for all the stuffed animals as no one could sleep if it was being used. as a kid, I loved my bunk bed.

Yes, pottery barn. It has a full bed on the bottom and a single bed on top. Lol nicer than my own bed. It is white they came and set it up. My 5 yr old sleeps on the top. The bed will last through the teen years because it is built well and good size on the bottom. My dad for the kids Christmas gift got the matresses at SAMs club. They are really nice and the larger matress is a pillow top. We were able to furnish the rest of the room with furniture from target that is white and save money. We have had the bed for 2 years.
