Hello fellow Mommies,
I have a random question about my eye. A few weeks back I woke up and had what looked and felt like a possible ingrown eyelash. When I squinted my eye it hurt and that lasted about 2-3 days then it pretty much weny away and I never noticed it for maybe about a week, well now it seems to keep coming back but its not painful like it was when I first noticed it. Instead my eyelid just seems itchy and irritated. None of this has affected my eyesight that I can tell anyway and my eyeball is not red or watering. So my question is, could this be a sty or something like that? I just dont want to make a trip to the doctor for something that might just go away on its own
Thanks in advance

What can I do next?

I was going to say it sounds like a sty for sure. It will probably go away in a few days, I get them from time to time and they are pretty painful and irritating! They usually come from bacteria so make sure your make up stuff is clean and that might help it to stay away! A warm compress will help if it's really bothering you!

My daughter had a bump on her eyelid. We took her to an opthalmologist and she said it was an ingrown eyelash, one that you can only see under a microscope. She plucked it out and the bump went down. The bump was there for over a month, I think and it didnt seem to hurt her or itch or anything.

Sounds like a sty, which is a blocked duct. So, just put a warmed wet washcloth on it and relax.

It's your eye, don't take chances. Go see a doctor.

If you are a sun worshipper or use tanning booths, you might want to get it checked out if it doesn't go away.

I had some bumps like that on my bottom lid, well I had my annual exam come around a few months alter and still had them and the doc told me it was from allergies. Sure enough once Fall was over...they went away.

Hi,

You could try castor oil on the bump. One drop rubbed in very gently and applied frequently until it goes away ought to do it. Castor oil is
very healing to all skin problems (that aren't oil-based) and might help your problem, too. Of course, if it IS an ingrown hair. castor oil won't help. I would suggest an optometrist if it doesn't resolve on its own before too long.

Good luck!

Could be any number of things that "might" go away on their own, but "could be" and "is" are not the same thing,k and only a doctor could tell you which it is. Something that keeps coming back is something I'd get checked out.
