Britax Boulevard Car Seat

Britax Boulevard
I bought the Britax Boulevard because it seems to be the top of line car seat on the market right now. However, every time I put my child in the seat, I get frustrated. (She sits rear facing) I simply cannot pull the long strap in the middle to tighten the harness! It is absolutely impossible! Every time I try to tighten her harness, I hurt my back because I am pulling so hard! I had the seat reinstalled in case it was ‘catching’ on something; but that has NOT helped! I also noticed that the strap which you pull to tighten the harness is getting a scratch mark on it as if something is rubbing on it when I pull the harness. I still have the receipt – not the box – and wonder if they will exchange it out. But I don’t know which seat I would want instead of the Boulevard. The Marathon has the same straps that I hate. The roundabout has different straps but does not have all the bells and whistles like the Boulevard.
Please let me know if you have any experience with the new side impact Boulevard model. Is the strap on yours difficult to pull?
Thanks so much for reading my posting.
Any advise is appreciated!

I have the Boulevard, rear-facing and do not have this problem. I think it sounds like there is a defect in the seat you have. I would contact the manufacturer and see about getting a replacement seat. Or maybe try the store first since that might be easier.

I have 3 britax's and I love them all. I don't have this problem with any of mine, did you call there 1-800 number? or just return it and tell them something is wrong. The only piece of advice is to pull the strap down, it won't do much if you pull it up, that's because it's kinda child proof. When you turn the seat around you see that they are really good seats. hope this helps.

I also have the Boulevard and when my son was rear facing, I didn't have any issues either. I would contact the Britax, it may be a defect.
