You've received some great recipes. But the secret to getting a good tender brisket is to put it in the oven the night before. Cut off the excess fat, then place in pan with about one inch of water. Set the temperature to 200 F.
The next day drain off the water and add the seasonings you want. I especially like the liquid smoke.

3 Step Oven Brisket! I just made this for Easter dinner and all my guests gave it positive reviews:

6LB Brisket in Oven

Season with fajita seasoning
(Doesn't taste Mexican or spicy just has a good flavor)
Bake @ 375 for 3 hours COVERED
(Follow the suggested cooking time on the packaging)
Broil 15-20 minutes UNCOVERED
(Juicy meat with tender crust)

That's it!

Serve with asparagus, brocoli salad, mash potatoes, gravy (made from juices of meat), dinner rolls (buy these).

I put my brisket in the slow cooker about a cup or a little more of "Allegro" in it's the marinade section in a bottle. I also add fresh garlic and jalapenos (those are very optional, I just really like spicy food) Good Luck and hope u have a nice party.

This is the absolute best brisket, its cooked in the crock pot and it falls apart like a roast! Since we found this recipe we have never cooked it any other way.
1 brisket- about 4 lbs
1-1/2 c water
1/4 c ketchup
1 pk dry onion soup mix
2 tbsp Worcestershire (I use a little extra)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
1 clove garlic- mince (I usually use garlic salt)
1/4 tsp pepper
Place brisket in crock pot- mix all ingredients in a bowl and pour over the brisket. If necessary you can add a more water to cover the meat. Cook on low about 8 hours.

Good luck and enjoy!

equal parts worchester and liquid smoke, add garlic powder, black pepper, celery seed - mix all together then spoon over brisket and seal in foil and place in a baking pan - bake at 250-275 for 6-8 hours....serve with barbeque sauce....this came from a hunter and tastes like what you get at the really good barbeque restaurants (I also add a few dashes of green pepper sauce)......enjoy!

FYI...contrary to reports...you can't cook a good brisket in 3 hours...it turns out to be shoe leather.

It takes no less than 6 hours and 8 is optimal, to break down the flesh of the meat so that it's tender...

Slow and low is the key...

for our parties, I put the brisket on the night before...well...morning of...like around 230 or 3...let it cook all night. And in the morning the entire house smells awesome and you have one less thing to cook.

Good luck to you...OH...and the first recipe...I REALLY LIKE THAT (sorry I didn't get your name). I'll have to try that on my next one.
