I am throwing a bridal shower and would love some ideas on how to liven it up. This is the first shower I have thrown. It will be a small group- between 10 and 15 people and will be in my home. Any fun ideas? Food and decor is easy thanks to Pinterest but the rest I am clueless about!

What can I do next?

I just threw a small bridal shower. I had two massage therapists come and do table or chair massages and foot soaks and hand scrubs. Everyone could pick and choose what they wanted and in between we ate, and ate and ate. It was so much fun!

The soaks and hand scrubs were done outside on the deck along with the group. The massages were set up in more private areas of the house.

My son just got married in April. I threw a wedding shower for my daughter in law to be. She is an old fashioned girl and when I asked what she would like she said " I want a shower with all the hoaky games is that ok?" so we played the following

make a wedding dress out of toilet paper (1 roll of paper per 3 - 4 guests)
guess the first kiss (large poster board with photos of actors / actress's and their rolls showing first kiss)
whats in your purse a big list of things in a purse whoever had the most won
who got the groom (envelopes each had a photo of a famous person 1 envelope had a photo of the groom and that person won)

I still like Bridal Bingo and using toilet paper to make a dress. Then the bride picks the best dress. Maybe a sticker on a plate for a prize. Or a bow another color on a favor.

I've been to 2 "around the clock" showers. If you haven't sent out invitations yet, just choose some times of the day and night (for each guest) and enclose a slip in each invite that has that time written down. Guests are asked to choose a gift that relates to that time of day. People with morning times tend to give things like coffee makers and breakfast items, people with 5 PM may give wine glasses or cocktail shakers, people with late night times may give lingerie, but those are just a few ideas - there's plenty of room for flexibility and it's very loose! It's fun if you assign times in a random fashion, but if you want to cheat a little so the 80 year old grandmother doesn't get 1 AM and feel funny giving a teddy, that's fine too!

To open gifts, you can either do it randomly or go in order of the clock.

Every shower I've been at does the silly stuff like take all the bows and ribbons to make a fake bouquet to use at the rehearsal (use a paper plate and either tape things down or punch holes and thread the ribbons through). I've seen a hat created with trailing ribbons to be the "veil" during the rehearsal. That's more silly but the bouquet is actually useful so the bride actually has something to hold during the rehearsal march and to practice handing it off to the maid of honor.

I've also seen people write down what the bride says as she opens each gift - leave out what others say, and just put down her remarks. Then it gets turned into a fake "conversation" between her and her new husband on the wedding night.

Most showers of all types (bridal, baby) have someone recording the gifts and the donors so the bride has a list in case cards get separated from gifts, so having someone with a pad & paper doesn't look odd.

Have fun, whatever you decide!!

Game "Who Knows the Bride & Groom best":
asking questions about the bride & groom. ?'s like "Where did they meet?", "Where was their first date?" etc.
Have 2 small prizes.

Have someone come in to give mini nail manicures or just paint the nails.

You could, also, go around the room & ask how each gal met the bride.
