Has anyone had any experience with a reduction and lift.

I'm an F and can't stand it anymore.

I'm down to my ideal weight and am thinking about getting a reduction and lift.

If you had it done how happy are you with the results?

How much was it all in all (PM me if you want)?

And were you able to make payments?

Please tell me all I need to know!

And which surgeon in the greater Dallas area can you recommend?

What can I do next?

I had a reduction, lift, and augmentation recently. You can apply for CareCredit, online which was simple, and make payments. I highly recommend Dr. Peter Raphael in Plano at www.ai4ps.com
I am thrilled with my results, cannot believe it actually. The pain was minimal to moderate for only about 3 days of pain meds needed.

I went from a G down to D. I absolutely love it! It was an out patient procedure and the worst thing about recovery was the drains, they were in for a week and once the drains were removed the pain was gone. My suggestion for recovery is to take a sleeping pill at nights and have lots of pillows to make you comfortable sleep on your back. I love being perky and I like that they are both the same size now. I didn't have to pay anything because I had dual coverage insurance that picked up all the costs. I am guessing between $3-$6000 depending on where it is done.

I love my plastic surgeon. I had to have my nipples reduced and I had implants to make them the same size as I was before the nipples were reduced (weird genetic thing). Anyway, Dr. Martin is awesome!

I was an H cup after I finished nursing, and they hug down to my belly button! It was awful! I had them reduced to a C and lifted. It is scary at first, they were almost too perky and the scars look scary, but with time they settled and the scars healed so nicely you have to look close to even see them! I have gained a great deal of weight since then, but they have only increased back up to a D. Two of my cousins and my sister also all had this done, and we all agree it was one of the best things we ever did. I used to have the worst neck, back, and shoulder pain, not to mention the head aches! I woke up after surgery and instantly felt better. I can not tell you about cost, mine was covered by my insurance (you may want to check with yours, many plans cover it if it is considered medically necessary). For a Doctor, just be sure he is board certified and that he has done this procedure a lot. I found a guy in the UK who does 2 reductions a week, every week, it was all he did, and he made mine look wonderful (at least that is what my hubby tells me ;) )

I can't answer your question, but after years of wanting one (only as a D or D+) and being miserable, then breastfeeding as a G, I have learned to accept and be happy with my post-breastfeeding and ideal-weight D-cups. If I were much larger than that, though, and at my ideal weight, I would definitely go for the reduction. You can also check if you haven't with your health insurance company. If they remove a certain amount of tissue at minimum it is usually considered medically necessary or recommended and if often covered. I would totally go for it. =)

I had a reduction in 1999 and absolutly love it. The cost was $6500 at that time $1500 for the Hospital and the $5500 for the doctor. The hospital made me pay before the surgery, since it was an elective surgery insurance didnt cover anything. The doctor let me pay $1000.00 a month, but I'm told it was because he knew my grandmother. So I'm not sure if paying it out is norm.

The only thing I would recommend is that you dont do this until you are done having kids. I had 2 kids since and mine chest grew back. I'm now looking into having to do it again, but this time in conjuction with a tummy tuck. Also, it messed me up for breast feeding, although the doctor said it wouldnt.

The surgeon is Byron Brown and at the time he was considered one of the best in the country. I had the surgery at Baylor downtown Dallas.

Good Luck and I promise it will be one on the best choices you have ever made. The key is a good doctor, definatly research whoever you pick.

Recovery wasnt that bad, the worst part that I remember was not being able to raise my hands above my shoulders for like 2 weeks. I had to have help in the shower washing my hair. My scarring is also not that bad. He cut me underneath.

I also agree with the fact that my nipples are numb now. I almost have no feeling.

Yes, I'm happy with the results ... from the second reduction. The first one was botched by the horrible surgeon. I ended up with uneven breasts. Without going into to much detail, let's just say it was bad. Then, a few years ago I had to go do it again to fix the first surgeons mistakes. Dr. Hughes in Dallas did this surgery. He did a great job.
One thing that none of these girls have mentioned is the change in sensitivity in your breasts once you've had this done. It's so different now that foreplay on the top half pretty much does nothing for me now. If that's something you really enjoy and don't want to live without, you may want to reconsider the surgery.
So while the pros can be great, they're not guaranteed. And there are always cons and risks when you undergo plastic surgery. Even if it's medically warranted. My last surgery was about $6k. I paid in full. I have no idea if they take payments.
Sorry to put a damper on all the rave reviews, but you need to be aware of all that you're getting yourself into.

I just wanted to say thanks for asking this question as I learned a lot from the answers. I'm an F cup normally, but an H/I when pregnant or nursing, and have a lot of back pain not to mention trouble finding bras and clothes to fit. I have been wanting a reduction and lift for several years but have been scared of the pain as well as of doing something so permanent.

Regardless, I'll have to wait a little while since I'm about to have a baby so I'll have to wait till nursing is done, but after reading the responses I think this is definitely going to be something I want to do. Best of luck with yours!

I don't have enough of a chest to even worry about this, but I have a close friend who had a reduction. She is small in stature and her boobs were humongous to the point that the reduction was covered by medical insurance. Her back problems were well documented in her medical history and after she was done having children it was covered as medically necessary.
She doesn't regret it at all.
It was done many years ago and all I have to say about it is that she believed having smaller boobs meant she didn't need a bra anymore and now she is trying to save money for a lift because even though they are smaller, they hang down half way to her waist. She's only 5 feet tall.
She made the mistake of thinking she didn't need support anymore. The reduction itself, she was very happy with.
They took several pounds off of her breasts. She was too small to carry that extra weight.

Best wishes!

Oh I hope it goes well for you! I have been dreaming of a reduction for about ten years, but I know it can mess up breastfeeding so I have to wait a few years until I'm done with kids (nursing the first now). I've heard that insurance will sometimes cover it, but you have to prove it's not cosmetic; you may have to show a few years of medical problems related to your breasts - headaches, etc. Should be no problem if you're an F :\

my sisters in law both had them after they were done having children, and they loved it. Both of them had oddly shaped breasts after they were done with all the breastfeeding, and I know one of them was having terrible back problems. I'm not sure of the cost, though.
