Breakfast of Champions

I always eat weird breakfasts ... today was NoriMake (japanese seaweed and rice crackers) & Best Burrito Ever (little taco truck leftovers with paper thin homemade tortillas, spiced pork, pinto beans, exploded rice, peppers, avocado, & 3 kinds of salsa), and coke.

My son eats 2 breakfasts. A bowl of cereal or frozen zappable breakfast sammie when he wakes up, and then I cook brunch 3 hours later. He's rabidly traditional OR very wacky. Eggs, fruit, toast or pancakes or potatoes, sausage or bacon OR he wants fettucini alfredo or salisbury steak or an artichoke or something.

How about you and yours? What's your breakfast of champions?

What can I do next?

Carrot cakes or pumpkin bread, if I could get away with it... but really, if I had someone to make it for me, I'd eat pancakes and scrambled eggs with cheese and sausage links and hash browns every morning with a whole pot of coffee to myself!! Denny's grand slam = BRILLIANT!!

That NoriMake sounds really good, where do you buy it?

My favorite is IF we happen to have leftover sushi one night, I love that for breakfast. The only time I can completely forgo coffee in the morning is if I have copious amounts of sushi for breakfast... hello protein overload!

We eat pretty traditional breakfasts. Either cold cereal or hot cereal during the week. On weekends we have eggs with either pancakes or french toast. I have never been able to eat non-breakfast foods and breakfast time. I start my morning with coffee and am not even hungry until about 9:00 am.

We do the basic fast breakfasts. I don't cook in the mornings, only on the weekends. So we will have cereal, oatmeal, bagel cream cheese, yogurt, cottage cheese, fruit, cinnamon toast or frozen waffles.

On the weekdays breakfast isn't crazy because we all go to school or work so usually cereal or oatmeal. Saturdays are usually crazy so it is biscuits and gravy or home egg mcmuffin in the morning. Sunday morning breakfast is a tradition I guess we make huge breakfast but no usually until about 10 or 11 when everybody finally rolls out of bed( yes my kids sleep that late) So there is Belgian waffles, eggs(however you want them), or omelets, bacon, sausage, juice toast and coffee usually fruit or veggies to go with the eggs or waffles. Usually breakfast becomes brunch but it is great everybody helps and gets to choose what they want

I'm addicted to Luna Protein Cookie Dough bars! I also like pink grapefruit and a couple of Morningstar soysauge patties if I decide to change it up.

My sons each have a big bowl of cereal and then the youngest eats at preschool. Sometimes the oldest will add a few waffles or a french toast Griddler (he's addicted to those but I don't buy them that often).

My favorite "weird" breakfast is a big bowl of grits with a few boiled eggs mashed up in it and doused in yellow mustard. YUM!

R., can mu son come & stay with you for awhile? He would love YOUR breakfast! He's always wanting new, different things. It is my cooking hell! You have given me great ideas before as to "what to make" for a reverse picky kid!
Mine will eat a breakfast sandwich, a breakfast burrito, eggs & salsa, potato-bake casserole--just about anything--just never the same thing twice! He's got about a month and a half rotation where a food is "ok" again.
Me? I could have a bowl of cereal every day. Or oatmeal. Doesn't bother me to have the same-old, same old.

I rarely eat breakfast food for breakfast. Actually, I almost never eat breakfast. When I do, it's usually dinner leftovers. We rarely get pizza, but when we do...cold pizza for breakfast is the BEST!! I do love eating breakfast food for dinner!!

i *LOVE* cooking breakfast. The kitchen is my happy place in the mornings. I sip through my coffee pot while making everyone breakfast and getting lunches ready every single morning, but by dinner time i'm usually just trying to throw something quick-ish together to feed the starving husband and children. This morning I made pumpkin spice pancakes for the kiddos--i just use coconut flour instead of a regular for the mix. I added honey, pumpkin spice, and pinch of vanilla extract and topped them with fresh homemade whipped cream and raspberries. They wolfed it down and were begging for more! I usually eat eggs, sausage and sauteed veggies for breakfast most days and my kids will eat that too. They also love sweet potato hash--fry up some bacon and chopped sweet potatoes and top it off with some butter. We're a peleo family, and i strongly believe in lots of healthy fats and proteins for kids and adults alike. Every meal is cooked in butter, ghee or coconut oil and gluten-free. Breakfast is the easiest to cook this way!

I eat weird breakfasts too.
Today, I downed a huge strong cup of coffee.
Then, I ate "mussel poke" which is a local Hawaiian seafood dish made of raw mussels with green onions and chili pepper sauce. And ate that with jasmine rice.
YUM.

We basically eat, whatever floats our boat, in the morning. It does not have to be a 'breakfast' food per say.
We also love to eat leftovers in the morning.
Lately, my kids have been into crepes for breakfast and dinner... which my daughter can make herself.
With either Nutella on it or melted mozzarella cheese and basil.

I hate breakfast and always have. I used to never eat until at least noon or else after school. Even now all I can tolerate is a slimfast or instant breakfast drink and a banana. My kids are pretty traditional with breakfast. Mostly it's cereal or bagel or toast. Although, my older teen will often wake up at noon or one on the weekend and go straight for lunch, as in pizza, pasta and bread, or even a sandwich and soup. I've seen him eat tacos for breakfast too. My husband eats maple and brown sugar oatmeal for breakfast every single day.
