Bra Shopping- Size AA

I can't seem to find stores that carry this cup size so I can try them on. Do you know of any? I have ordered online once a couple of years ago but they didn't fit so I had to return them (I picked a few styles). Problem with that is most sites require for you to also pay the return shipping. That would get expensive. I don't know about you, but bra shopping is never successful on the first try. And with my size not easily available, I end up wearing bras that don't fit well (gaps in the cup) and it's frustrating. Anyone else with this issue??

What can I do next?

I'm also very small and find kohls juniors bras to fit great! They're inexpensive and I finally don't have cups that gap or straps that fall off my shoulders. I get them slightly padded to give me a little shape!

This is good advice for everyone, AA to HHH: get professionally fitted by a professional.
Rule of thumb that generally apies to all? Down a band size & up a cup size.

Do you have Neimans or Nordstrom? Even if you don't, both have free shipping to you and any returns.

You should see a good bra fitter and those 2 stores are my favorites to get a good fitting and a good bra and they are not ridiculously expensive as you would think.

Also, does your area have a specialty bra store? We have a few here in Dallas where you can get a custom bra made. It is important that you get properly fitted and don't get fitted at Victorias Secret... get fitted by real fitters. Dillard's and Macy's are not bad if that is your best option.

My favorite brand is Wacoal.

You will have much better luck in the teen/girl's department. They won't gap as much in the cup. They are much less expensive too. I would just go in to a store and try them on.

I would just wear a camisole or go without - would be so nice. Why do you feel you need a bra?

I often shop in juniors or girl's. Seems to be that girl bra sizes now go from trainers to B or so and you should be able to try them on in stores which allow that.

And make sure you are properly measured so that you are not compensating band size for cup size. Even stores like Penny's often have someone who can measure you. (FWIW, I am not saying you are not an AA, just that most women wear the wrong bra. I'm not very well endowed myself and I personally hate going braless under tshirts and such, even if there's not much to be supported, so I sympathize.)

A sports bra should be fine and there are plenty of cute strappy bras in an A cup, which should fit. I don't see much room for a gap in an A cup.

I also would suggest going to Nordstrom. I feel they are the best when it comes to bra fitting. You really do need to have some one help you because it makes ALL the difference in the world. Their bras aren't inexpensive, but I think it's worth it to get the right fit.

My size is not easily available either and I've found Nordstrom to have a lot of things in stock but once they find your fit you can order on line and they have free shipping if you order in store.

Penney's has well trained bra fitters. I worked there as a bra fitter and we did carry AA cups.
As funny as this may sound try the children's department. You may have better luck finding your size.

I would either go to a real lingerie store and get them to measure you, or go to the teen section to look.

We have a professionally run store here called "Petticoat Faire" and see if they can help you or I would look in the teen section if you are small enough What is your measurement under your breasts?

If you have never been professionally fitted, do it.

Yes, I have this problem! I wear a 44 A and can't find them anywhere. I can get away with a B cup but I just can't find a good one to fit right so I have given up and wear sports bras since it's easier. lol Good luck.

I have the opposite issue, but the same problem. I wear an uncommon size- 34 DD/DDD. My suggestion is to order online from stores where you can return to the store. Usually, the online store front will have more sizes available in certain styles. I'll order online, pick up at the store, and then take them to the dressing room and try them on. If it doesn't work, then I return right then. This way, I eliminate the back forth shipping issue. Hope this helps.

No, I don't have this problem.

However, with that cup size? I would go to teens department. This is NOT meant to be cruel - but have you considered "training" bras or sports bras??

American Eagle has that cup size..

My sister didn't get boobs - she got the height (she's 6' tall). I got the boobs (DD to E). She uses Target, as she's a NEARLY B cup. I think that's what it's called - or barely B.

Good luck!

AA is a training bra. The only place you would find them is tween type stores and in styles that are for tweens. Have you tried an A which is pretty much flat too?

OnePerfectOne's suggestion is a great one (see below).

One time when they were out of my size, I tried the next size down, but up a cup size (otherwise the cups were too small). Fit better than the bras I'd been wearing.

So if you are a AA I wonder if you tried going down a band size (like from 34 to 32) and try an A if that would fit you. Worth a shot. I would think it would be easier to find an A than AA in stores.

Good luck :)

If you so need to order them online, use a store that does free shipping to the store after you buy them, and then lets you return them to the store for free. This is becoming more and more common at places like Penneys and places I buy my bras like Lane Bryant. I know how difficult it can be, either big or small. I sometimes buy the same bra in 3 sizes to find one that will fit.

I've had the best luck with a bra store like Lady Grace. They carry every brand, they're trained fitters (hopefully you are comfortable enough to let them measure you accurately), and they keep bringing you new things in the changing room so you don't have to keep getting dressed. Better department stores (Macy's, Nordstrom's etc.) often have better fitters too, but I think the bra stores have a better selection. Their staff are more use to women with unusual issues (small sizes, large sizes, uneven, post-mastectomy, nursing moms, etc.). For me, it's worth it to get a good bra that really fits. There are usually coupon deals throughout the year too. Once you have a brand and size, you may be able to buy more online for less money.

Do you have a Title Nine sportswear shop anywhere near you? My daughter, who is still very small-busted but who dances, wears their crossover sports bra (I think they call it their "not a bomber" bra). It is light enough to be a daily wear bra, and it's cute, too, if that matters. They are a bit expensive, but so far they have held up exceptionally well to active use and frequent laundering.

Title Nine also sells online, but I don't know their return shipping policy, since we have a store locally, so it's been ages since I've ordered from them. They now have a separate bra catalog called Bounce, and they carry a very wide range of styles and sizes. I know that they are great about returns. I'm a difficult to fit size on the other end of the size spectrum, and I have talked on the phone with their bra consultant and sent several bras back and forth to find a sports bra that actually works for me.

I know it's hard, my sister is similar when she is at her lowest weight. She's up to about 110 now and in a A or B cup now. She's almost 5' tall so it suits her to be smaller.

I suggest you try to find a specialty shop where they fit you. If you want a sexy adult style bra that makes you feel like a woman then that may be what you have to do. Special made aren't cheap by any means but they do fit well and last if taken care of.

If you sew or a family member does there are many sites you can find that give free sewing patterns to make lingerie. The supplies for them can be purchased at WAWAK.
