I am currently 28 weeks pregnant but when I was 20 weeks I had an ultrasound to determine the sex of my baby and its a boy well I got home and my family saw the ultrasound and they said that they don't believe i'm having a boy becuase his wee-wee is to big and they thing his "wee-wee" is really his umbilical cord and that i'm having a girl. p.s my mother said her ultrasound looked like mines and she was told that my sister was a boy. Is this normal and what can I do about it if anything ?

What can I do next?

Yes it is nornmal. Was told that my son was a girl until the day he was born. Only thing to do is have another ultrasound. But remember that the baby has to be laying in positions that allows the gentials to be seen. Good Luck.

Is your Mom an ultrasound tech?

I would go with whatever the ultrasound tech or doctor said it was. They know what to look for and can tell the difference between a ball sack and the cord. Plus if it's a girl you should see 3 straight lines or it will look like a taco.

I have a friend who is having twin boys and one has a HUGE ball sack and the other ones is small. We will see if that is really the case once they are born, but they for sure saw the sacks and know both are boys.

Good Luck!!

You could try the intelligender test. It's 90% accurate and costs $35.it seems pretty cool

here's the website:

I have known of that happening. the umbilical cord showing up in the right place at the right time, to make it look like a wee-wee. All you can do is have another utlra sound later on & see if it shows up again. I have friends that were told it was a boy & it wasn't, it was a girl :)
And I have heard of the ultra sound showing it was a girl, but actually was a boy.
I wouldn't let it concern me, the main focus should be a healthy baby :) You're gona love him or her no matter what :)
Relax & let it be a surprise :)

Yes, it happens alot. My doctor said an ultrasound to determine the sex is about 80% accurate...the only for sure way to know the sex of the baby before birht is amneosythesis, which is not something you would want to do unless you had a high risk pregnancy. Buy some blue stuff, but keep some pink or yellow and green on hand, just in case....lol

There really isn't much you can do about it. If it's a boy or a girl, nothing will change that!! You will know for sure when the baby is born!!

I had to have an early ultrasound because they thought I might be carying twins. (I wasnt, just big) But I wasnt sure and since it was my first child OU medical center did a 4D ultra sound for 50.00. I got a clearer picture and it was sooo cool to see! I even got a vidio of her moving around and stuff it was so cute and worth it. Good luck hun!

Is anyone in your family licensed in some way to be able to read a sonograms? I wouldn't even 100% rely on a Dr. either. Sometimes, those things are read wrong. Just enjoy being pregnant...you'll find out sooner than you know!

Ultrasounds can be read wrong. Don't stress over it. I would say pick out a boys name and a girls name and one outfit for each to take with you to the hospital. It's nice to be surprised. :)

It can happen. A friend of mine was told her first was a boy but it was actually a girl. But if the doctor and tech thought it was a boy I would take their opinions over your familys, since I'm sure they have seen hundreds of ultra sounds. Ultrasounds are fussy so maybe they were looking in the wrong spot or it was just a close up shot so you could see better that it was a boy.

There are some home tests you can take that are pretty accurate. i think you pee on them and then send them away. One is about $100 but the other was much cheaper. I'm sorry I don't know more info, but I'm sure you can find it if you search on the internet.

yes this is normal. ANd yes you are having a boy. A sonogram is hard for an indivisual to read but if the doc said it is a boy than there is a really good chance that it is. Honestly you are worried about nothing.
