I'm looking for someone who does like a petting zoo party, but with reptiles and bugs. I heard of someone having like a turtle and some bugs at their son's party. I have two boys and I know a traditional (sheep, pig, etc.) won't interest them. I googled it, but haven't been able to find anything. I think my boys would really enjoy this!

This may not work at all, but I plan activities for a local mom's club, and we got o Pet Co! The have awesome field trip/tours and let the kids play/pet with the lizards, snakes, frogs, you name it. My son eats it up! I went on fieldtripfactory.com to register, and they were fantastic. I went to the one in NW Houston on FM1960 near Eldgridge, but I am sure all are great..and they do it for FREE! Might be fun to do then go to a place to eat cake etc.. just an idea..

Look up Texas Snakes (Clint The Snake Man). He does an educational presentation and has lots of safe snakes for play. He'll give them a poster and stuff, too. They have a good website.

There is a man in The Woodlands that does birthday parties as well as weekly visits to some of the daycares and preschools in the area. Science Quest is the name of his business and I believe he is a retired science teacher. My daughter has seen him weekly at her preschool and I have attended a birthday party for one of her classmates at which he was the entertainment. He brought a lot of animals. I recall a large turtle, snake, and parrot. I believe there was a chinchilla as well as many others that I have forgotten. Along with the animals he does a few experiments that are exciting for the kids. This is the number that I found online for him ###-###-####.

Good luck,
K.

Barbara Cargill (one of our SBOE reps) and Casey Enis used to do such a party - hissing cochroch, millipeed, frogs, snakes, toads, bats, etc. but that was some time ago, don't know if they still do or not. They're in The Woodlands - used to do WOW Science camp at the Woodlands United Methodist church but since my kids are older now, don't know if they still do or not. Casey works at the church and I'm certain Barbara is listed in the phone book - might try them.
