I sm possibly going to throw a bowling birthday party for my soon to be 5yr old son. Has anyone does this type of party before. Any pros or cons with a bowling party. Any places that you would recommend or not recommend? One place is charging $30 per lane for an hour of bowling plus pizza and pop. I will be providing the cake. Any help or advice would greatly be appreciated.

So What Happened?

Today was the day of our bowling party. We had it at Suburbanite Bowl in Westmont. It was $35 per lane that we used. $7.75 per kid which included bowling, shoes, pizza or hotdogs/chips, drinks, and ice cream. The birthday boy got a real bowling pin that all of the kids signed. We brought the birthday cake and goody bags. We also bought pizza and drinks for the adults. The kids had a great time. We had an employee there who took care of everything. I would definitely would recommend this place for anyone wanting to throw a bowling birthday party. Thanks for all of the moms who replied to my message and gave me ideas. I really appreciated it.

Hello...In Feb I had my son's birthday party at Parkside Lanes in Montgomery..he just turned 6..we had kids there who ages ranged from 2-14 because of friends and family.I paid 10.00 Per kid..They got a hour and a half of bowling. A hot dog, pop (while eating), chips, a goodie bag, and in that goodie bag was a free game of bowling for the next time they come back. They supplied all the plates, cups decorations etc..I didnt have to do anything except bring the cake, which worked out great for me because I had just gotten out of the hospital 2 days before.....Good Luck

Hi H.,
My son is turning 8 in April and we are going to have a bowling birthday in New Lenox at Country Lanes off of Laraway Road. It is the first time we are having his party out og the house (usually it is 20 kids in my backyard and living room), but his communion is only 2 days later.
It is $10 a kid, but includes all of the paper goods, shoes, bowling, hot, drink and chips, plus a free bowling coupon for each child. i am going to get a cake and ice cream and make a small goodie bag for each kid.
Both Oriental Trading and Birthday Express sell bowling goodies. Good luck.
Jennifer

There is a bowling alley in Lockport that has super cheap prices on mondays & tuesdays... like $1 lanes and $1 shoe rentals. Check it out!

I have thrown two bowling parties for my son. Each one in a different state. They are a lot of fun. I made up a sheet of 10 frames of silly bowling. Each frame was something different. Like; Bowl with left hand, or turn around three times and then bowl, do a silly walk and then bowl. Things like that. It is great for boys. Some of the kids were worried about never bowling before, and this took the pressure off. Score didn't matter. It was just a bunch of boys having fun. You need an adult at each lane to help the kids with that frames silly bowling. It took about 45 minutes to complete one game, so it worked out well. If they ended early, they just got to bowl regular until the time was up. I do agree with snacks during bowling. Buy a used bowling pin (or ask for a free one) and have all the kids sign it with a sharpie when they arrive. It's a nice rememberance. Good luck and have fun!

We went to one at Orland Park Bowl on 159th on Saturday. It was really fun. The kids were 4 and 5 years old. There were 12 kids spread over the 2 lanes. The balls went down the lanes sooooo slooooowly that we didn't even finish an entire game. It was a riot watching those little kids!! I can't recall the exact price but the kid's mom said it was reasonable. (I seem to recall $7.50 a kid???? I really don't recall exactly but she said the price was a good deal whatever it was)It was an hour and a half bowling on 2 lanes plus pizza and pop in a party room after for an hour (not private one) parents brought in cake. The kids had fun but they turn the lights down and do a disco light thing with music while bowling. A couple of the kids were scared at first. They eventually warmed up. The alley had a lot of light weight balls which was really nice (usually finding a 6 pound ball is hard) and put up bumpers. The only negative I had was that there were no snacks during bowling. If you have a party I'd suggest something while the kids bowl even if it's just a few small bags of M&M's. My 2 girls were about ready to gnaw their own legs off! Good luck!!
