I saw ONE book the other day on single parenting, but it wasn't exactly something I thought would be useful. Does anyone know of a good book about parenting as a single mom?

What can I do next?

HI! I'm a 23 yr old single mother (recent) of an awesome little guy. I too read "Raising Boys" and loved it. I haven't looked much furthur than that, but would LOVE to meet some other single moms in the area... anyone up for that? I live in Westminster!
Good luck!

I have a book called "How to behave so your children will too" by Sal Severe, PhD. I used it as a single mom and it was the most valuable tool for me. If you can't find a copy, message me your address, and I will send you the one I have. I liked it that much. Take a look at it on amazon.com and see if it is one you would be interested in and let me know.

Join the club, first time mom and single again. If you want to have an adult play date let's set it up. Family is great as so is a Good Friend. Respond it interest.

If the father is at all involved and the child will be seeing him read "Between Two Worlds". As far as resolving the two world dilemma I haven't found too much yet.

I just read this book called "Raising Cain: Protecting the emotional lives of boys". It's not specifically geared towards single parenting but I would highly recommend it because I'm raising a son apart from his father and I found it full of useful insights.

Raising Boys by Dr. James Dobson is an excellent resource for any parent. I wish I had had it when my kids were younger. both of mine are now in their twenties. I was a single mom for 3 years and really did the parenting on my own for most of their young lives. It gives a lot of insight into their development as they age. you can get a discounted price through cbd.com. hope this helps.
