I can't believe I didn't come here before for this. I just wrote my first book, right now I am waiting for my editor to finish with it so I can polish it. I am just wondering for those of you with teenage girls, what books are they reading? Since this is my genre, I would really like to get some of the more popular ones to see what the current market is selling. Besides Twilight because duh! LOL I've read those and the Vampire Academy. I really like the genre myself, so if you are of like mind, tell me what you are reading, what you like about it, and what you don't. I still have two more books to go as this is a series, so all input will help. Thanks!

What can I do next?

What I like are the girl power books. Like Vampire Academy, Rose kicks total butt, even if she makes terrible decisions sometimes. What I hated about Twilight was how Edward was so overbearing, and had to make all of the decisions for Bella and she just went along with it because of their Epic Love. Rose never stood for that, although I did feel terrible for Adrian by the end.

Not that there's anything wrong with Epic Love, but what I hate about Twilight is the idea that the perfect boyfriend is one who stalks you and makes your decisions for you.

Hunger Games is great, my niece loves it too. Besides twilight etc., she also likes Maximum Ride series by James Patterson. Basically adventure series.

I am an avid reader so sometimes I end up with books that are slanted for teens on my Nook. One I recently read that was great was Boyfriends, Burritos & an Ocean of Trouble by Nancy N. Rue. I think I will download the others she has written because I liked it so much. Another good teen series is the On the Runway series by Melody Carlson.
