My daughter is 9 and we would love some new ideas on some good books. She has read a lot of the American Girl series, the Mandie books (excellent!), and some others. She is a great reader and loves a really good book. Anyone have any ideas?

I have to agree with the person how suggested the Boxcar Children! There is a whole series (with a ton of books). The Boxcar Children is still one of my favs!
The magic tree house books are great. My daughter really likes those.
might be old fashioned, but my boys loved "The Boxcar Children"
Junie B. Jones has a lot of good ones to choose from, those have been a big hit in our house for my 8 yr old daughter and my 8 yr old neice loves them as well.
The Babysitters Club are always good for little girls, those were always my favorite growing up.
She can also try some Henry & Mudge books. My DD always checks them out from her school library and LOVES them.
She might like the Goosebumps series. I LOVED those growing up but don't think I really started reading them until about 10-12.....anyhow there's MANY different ones to choose from so she'll have plenty to read.

My daughter is in 2nd grade and a strong reader. She just started (and loves) Lightning Thief. She will ask what some words are, but is not deterred. The movie is coming out in February and so it is perfect timing to read, and then go see!

My son loves the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. He is also reading the Madeleine L'Engle series that starts with A Wrinkle in Time. When I was her age I loved Johnny Tremaine. If she is a good reader a lot of kids are reading the Seeker series, The Fire Within (series) by Chris D Lacey. The Junie B Jones stories are pretty funny. We still read them just for fun. What about the Little House on the Prairie series. The kids in my son's class just ate them up.
