Ok, this is quite odd! I have gained about 20 lbs. and just can't seem to find underwear that I like without it looking like it belongs to my mom!! What brands/types do others wear? I seem to get the real thin crotch undies and one leg always seems to rise up even when I get the no rise brand. I tried boxer/boy shorts and they wear worse cause they had no elastic to make them "stay in place".

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well I felt better after getting responses to know that this was not that wierd of a question!! lol I plan to go shopping this weekend and have decided that I might splurge some! Even thinking about ordering some of the Ellen Degeneres ones that they make such a big deal about on her show. If they fit well and good quality, they should last longer and might be cheaper in the long run. I get so many that I only wear a few times. I might reply in a few months after I "experiment". Thanks for all your input and the comment about not buying for my weight kinda hit home! lol (just didn't want to admit it)

Someone else mentioned Jockey--I wear the "comfies" by Jockey, in hi-cut, but they come in bikini and brief too. They come in all colors. To save money, I've been going to the Jockey outlet and buying whatever was on sale from the previous season, but they don't always have them on sale.

Delta Burke has some BEAUTIFUL underwear for plus size women - I love her stuff and am about a size 16/18. If you have a "ROSS" dress for less, they sell them. If not get on the internet and you should be able to find who carries them. I went thru an underwear transformaton about 4 years ago and my hubby LOVES it - no more granny panties - now just the pretty ones with lace and/or silk.

know JUST what you mean - Jockey is GREAT - I buy it at the outlet stores and it's 1/2 what it is in the dept. stores. They've got lots of different ones to choose from - I personally like the Hipsters.

My sister and friend swear by hanky panky brands. The all lace once are good b/c they hug you w/o riding up.

as funny as this may sound...I like some of the underwear that target sells.
But i guess it all depends on if you like wearing thongs or not.
I personally can't really stand to wear anything but thongs.

Vanishing Edge from Soma - lots of different styles/colors/prints. I prefer the boyshorts and modern briefs. They have a special band type of material (maybe silicone?) around the leg openings to prevent ride-up, and those suckers don't move! I know is sounds weird, but you should give them a try. They're a little expensive at the regular Soma stores, but there are outlets in San Marcos and Allen - I don't know where Three Rivers is in relation.

Well, I guess it depends on just how you carry your weight.

Victoria's Secret has good sales on cotton panties, different styles. You might have to go in and actually look at them (or online) to know which style might be best for your body. I love the cotton bikinis and the Body by Victoria boy shorts and full-coverage bikinis.

I found some pretty Bali panties at JC Pennys. They stay in place and give the coverage I want (smooth) but still look nice and young...not granny panties!

I love Jockey. The hi-cut ones. I buy the cotton ones and now I notice they have some they feel silk but I think they are still cotton and they come in different colors. I have the same problem! Hope this helps. :)

I hate the boy shorts too for that reason. I actually have cotton underwear from Mervyn's (which I no longer have here). They aren't great, or sexy, but they are much less likely to ride up, and don't look totally like granny panties. I have tried going to the nicer underwear and have the same problem you mention. If I get them big enough to cover and not ride up, they are too loose, and ride up anyway because there is no tension to keep them there. I may have to look into the Delta Burke underwear even though I'm not technically a plus size.

I get Just My Size brand at Wal-Mart. They fit right, they have cute styles (high leg, bikinis, and yes, regular granny briefs) and they're not expensive. Make sure you're getting the right size for your weight...if you get a pair that's too small, no panties in the world are going to fit right. :)

I like some boy shorts, but the ones I have are actually all elastic (stretchy). I like booty shorts better though. Happy hunting =)

Lane Bryant has a great selection of bras and panties. Colorful prints and solids, thongs, low-rise, bikini, and granny-style. I caved and bought a pair of their hot pink boy shorts because they were so cute but I can't stand them because they ride up. Maybe they've improved their boy shorts since then but I'll stick with my faves - the low-rise.

Good luck!

I normally wear thongs, even though i gained a significant amt of weight due to pregnancy, I still like my thongs & contrary to popular believe they don't "ride" up in your crack unless someone gives you a wedgie or it somehow wks its way up in there, plus no panty lines up under your buns! Hope this helps, good luck.

I used to hate Victoria's Secret undies because they were so baggy, but they recently redesigned them so they are stretchy and I LOVE them now. Give them a try and see what you think. Once you get on their mailing list (and I'm honestly not sure how I did get on the mailing list!) they send me a coupon for a free pair of undies every couple of weeks. I can't remember the last time I actually paid for underwear!
