Are there any good boardgames that a couple can play with each other? A lot of games seem to be for 3+ players. Something that helps us get to know each other better would be cute too! Thanks!

we play scrabble - but we've altered the rules. We each get 15 tiles and then we have 'subject scrabble' so all the words have to be about him, or me, or sex, or work etc. Each time you can't make a word you have to tell the other person something about that subject.

We play card games together, uno, skipbo. We have gotten several games on the computer though. If it is something that more players are needed for there is just a computer player. They are about the same price or cheaper to permanently buy from gamehouse or something like that. You can also get a free hour long trial usually before you buy.
We have life, wheel of fortune, family fued, and a couple other trivia games.

Sequence is fun. Can be played with 2 players or as teams with more players.

Scatergories is SO fun! Also, I think Battle of the Sexes may be able to be played with just two.

I love Scattegories, too. There is also a game called Dirty Minds - they ask questions that sound dirty, but actually relate to totally innocent answers:

We LOVE Yahtzee and we love Super Scrabble (it can take a long time, so regular Scrabble is fine too). Many a fine evening spent playing one or both together!

we have one that is pretty fun. It's actually called "getting to know you...better". I'm not sure where you can find it because we got it used as a wedding gift 8 years ago, but maybe if you look on ebay or at a book store you could find it

My hubby and I play Uno alot and battle of the sexes. We also play darts on the weekends in the garage with classic rock playing and drinking cold beers. It's so fun just to hang out and have some fun, healthy competition with each other. :)

My husband and I LOVE to play Uno, it's fun competition. We also play Mancala....which can be a lot of fun. My parents used to play a boardgame that came sort of in a brief case...not sure what the name of it is. I'm intereted to see what others say here to as to what games to help you get to know each other too! I think that's always fun!! My husband and I sometimes play along with the Newlywed game is we are just relaxing in bed after a long day! So funny to hear what our thoughts are after 8 years together and 6 years of marriage!

You can play Balderdash. It works with a more than 2 players of players, but if you look at the rules, the person playing the card writes what the card says only. So, to work with only 2 players, the card player can write what the card says on one paper, then his/her own definition on another paper, and you guess which is the correct definition of the crazy word.

You can also play Cranium, or Apples to Apples. You may have to alter the game a bit, but can still have lots of fun.

I LOVE Scattegories!! We just played it with another couple a few weeks ago and we had a blast! My husband and I also played it, just the two of us and also had a lot of fun. Also, we have a Family Feud DVD game. We put it in, watch the host read the question and we write down our answers. I haven't seen it in the stores lately, but do some homework and look around (check online, too). It's fun! Happy game night with your hubby!

We play cribbage a lot - not a board game, but still good. Phase 10 also works. Why not do Hungry, Hungry Hippos, Chutes and Ladders, Cooties, etc.?

We play "San Juan," which is a mini version of the game Puerto Rico. I don't know if PR can be two people or if you need more, but people say great things about that one too.

The brand "Think Fun" makes GREAT games... for ages 2-100.
Even my kids play their games from 2 years old.
AND its for adults, as well.

Amazon carries it, Barnes and Noble etc.
REALLY great thinking, problem solving, creative type games.

Me and Hubby, (and our kids) play games by Think Fun.
We also like to play:
Go
Backgammon
Chess
Scrabble
