"Blackheads" - What to Do for a 4Th Grader

While I certainly had my fair share of pimples as a kid/tween/teen, I never really had an issue with blackheads. I've noticed that my 4th grade daughter seems to have a few. She has a lot of freckles, so quite frankly, it's not noticeable - I don't even think she knows. But what can I do for her to help get rid of them? What's safe for her age? Any recommendations would be appreciated.

get her a face wash and have her use it every morning and night. Clean & Clear even makes a face wash for blackheads. You could also try the biori strips but they kinda pull on the skin and she might not like that too much. But really the face wash should do the trick.

You don't want to squeeze or try to push them out. Just get her a gentle face cleanser. At her age something like Noxema would probably work. I started using Arbonne face cleansers, etc and loved them. They were very gentle and worked better than anything I'd ever used in the past but it's pricey (which means I haven't been able to buy it again lol).

Biore has these white strips you put on your face, wet them and then wait a few minutes and after the strip drys you pull it off and the blackheads come off on the strip. It's fast and painless and inexpensive.
You can get them at Walgreens, in the section where they sell face moisturizers.
Good Luck.

I have my son use some Noxema cleansing pads every morning and scrub his face with soap on a scrubby pad every night. A little oil management and exfoliation seem to keep his face nice and clear for now.

I'm an Avon rep - just have to put it there. For her age....I like the person said the apricot scrub - that would be my first choice. I would be a little hesitant about putting so much chemicals on her face since she is so young. She still has baby skin - it's less than a decade old. Avon has Mark products that are more of the natural extracts based. Less abrasive with the chemicals. Sallcylic acid is one of the main ingredients in acne products....some have more and some have less. Look for that too. Also the strips would be a great idea too. Arbonne has great products too - I have used them in the past. But all in all I prefer Avon. Good luck Mama - you'll know what is right in the end.

Airbonne has a good qualiy selection of products that are natural from Sweeden, you may want to use a scrub and a toner to help minimize her poors to help stop them from getting clogged causing the blackhead.

Biore pore strips!

Also... As a preventative (somewhat)- Apricot face scrub. I use the off brand. Works great!

I've ALWAYS had issues with blackheads.

I have an esthetician license and I would recommend an enzyme exfoliant that is mild and nonabrasive. Derma e is a natural brand that has no harsh chemicals. You could also try a more expensive brand like Phytomer Vegetal exfoliant. Always wash at night before bed; That is more important than washing in the morning. There are other treatments like glycolic acid/AHA's (alpha hydroxy acids)/salicylic acid. There are many drugstore brands that carry product lines with these. Try not to over dry her skin with repeated washing or benzoyl peroxide.
I would alsotake her get a facial at some point in the future to have her pores extracted (squeezed properly).
