My son's 2nd birthday is 2 day's after Christmas and I was looking for some place to have his party. Our house is way to small, and I honestly don't want to have to deal with all the snow being tracked in the house. Any ideas will help....I would like to stay around the New Lenox, Frankfort, Mokena, Tinley Park, Orland Park area. Thanks for your time.

What can I do next?

Are you looking for Kid things to do for a kids party or for a family/adult party?

If you want a space to rent for a family party, one of the best places in town is the VFW on Vine and Hickory. It isn't like the old, stereotype VFW, it is newly remodeled, big and very reasonable. The bar is separated from the main room so you don't have strangers walking in and drinking/smoking. It is smoke free too. The American Legion is another inexpensive place but it is smaller, older and I don't care for the set up as much as the VFW.
Pappa Joes has a nice banquet room in the back and so does Little Joes and they will do the food too. I think Williamsons has a room too.

For kid party places there is pots and paints where you pick out an item of your price range and the kids sit and paint it, they fire it and then you go and pick them up a week later and deliver. Fun for kids!! There is also LW high school where you can rent the pool (kiddie part too!). Boys are harder than girls to find kid things to do. Also, if you are looking to rent a place, do it soon because many places close over christmas break. My daughter's birthday is 2 days before christmas and when I tried to have her 5th b-day party last year over school break, many venues were closed or booked with holiday parties.

Hope this helps!

My son will be 2 on Dec. 5th, so we have the same problem! We had his 1st Birthday at the Harald Viking Lodge in Tinley Park. It was very clean and big! There is enough room for the little ones to run around! This year we are going to have a small family party at our house and then have the kids party at Gymboree Play and Music in Orland Park. I would call soon, because it is hard with Christmas parties to find halls for that time of year. Good Luck!

Hi. I think you have to have at least 10 people - Choo choo Johnnys in Frankfort. Its cute and the kids will love it. I think they have a back party room too.

Are you looking for a family party and just to rent a room? Park district on Manor Dr. ###-###-####) has banquet room and a smaller room in the back. It is a lot cheaper to rent if there is no alcohol. There is also ROC off of Nelson Road, which would be more for kids running around and playing kick ball, basketball, etc....or you can have a kid's party at Pump it Up (Mokena?) Have fun!

Gym Kinetics in Mokena and New Lenox do birthday parties in their gym. It looks like tons of fun! My kids go to gymnastics there and we have not done the birthday parties but I know that the kids love their classes there. Also, a little furthur away but less expensive and a GREAT party place is the Exploration station children's museum in Burbonaise (SP?) They do everything for you including the food if you want and the prices are VERY reasonable plus you can have lots of kids if you want and they set up and clean up everything also. We did that for my sons 5th birthday and everyone loved it. You can get info for these from www.gymkineticsmokena.com or from the Kankakee park district or just type Exploration statio into yahoo and it will come up. Hope this helps. Have fun!

Morgans/Thunder Bowl off of 191st and Lagrange has a party room that is downstairs. They supply the food and beverages, but you have to set up/decorate and clean up. Friends of ours had a few parties there. Really nice, but not sure about the cost. Good luck!
