Hey mommies! My twin sister and I both had our children on the same day two years apart and this year I wanted to throw a huge party for the both of them. My daughter is turning two and her son is turning four. I don't want to do a tv show theme and its in June, so I was kinda thinking it would be cool to do something with water, but I want it to be original. Any creative suggestions?? Thank you everyone!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thanks everyone for your answers! They were all really helpful. I think what I'm going to end up doing is a luau theme and have a few water slides, some water guns, some sprinklers, and a bounce house :) they should have fun!

I had a friend throw a 4 year birthday party for their daughter in June and did a Luau theme. They don't have a pool so instead they bought a few slip and slides, setup a blow up pool, had water guns, a sand box, hula hoops, and a station for blowing bubbles. They cooked hamburgers and hotdogs and everyone hung out outside, it had to be one of the coolest parties ever (I thought). The kids had a great time because there was SO much to do! That kind of party would fit in perfect with both sex and ages.

If you need custom invitations I would be happy to help, www.WorksofaWink.com . I also do coordinating cupcake toppers and favors to match. We could even include pictures of both kiddos, one on one side of the invitation and one on the other =)

Good luck, whatever you decide I am sure it will be a blast!

Hi K., How about a surfing through the years theme? Or I've done bug themes that were really cute.....I have 3 kiddos (2,4,and 6) so we've done lots of parties. I have a website where I put my invitations (www.creativetouchcards.com I design and make invitations and cards as my home business) and I have a page on there with birthday party ideas since I come across so many cute ones. (http://www.creativetouchcards.com/birthdaypartyideas.html). You might check it out to see if it will give you ideas.....
Good luck!

I offer "come to you" make your own stuffed animal parties. The ages you have listed are perfect for my parties/workshops. :) It's a very sweet activity as the children actually stuff the animals with their own hands- no machines. :)

The children stay engaged and it's a perfect amount of time (about 45 minutes) for these ages (I take over the party and lead the workshop so that you can enjoy your time at the party). :)

I know it's not a "water" theme, but you can build a theme party around the different types of animals I offer- jungle/safari animals, cats and/or dogs, farm animals, etc...
Parents and, of course, children really enjoy this activity and it's something different (plus it's also a GREAT take home gift for your guests).

I have a website with pics, videos, and testimonies if you are interested.

K., I have twins (boy/girl) that are now 7 and a daughter who is now 10. Their birthdays are 2 weeks aprat, so I have had a joint birthday party for them since the twins turned 1 years old. The first year we had a jump house shaped like an elephant and did a jungle theme. I assigned a specific animal to each child. The next year (the twins were 2 and the oldest was 4) I had a huge blow up water slide and the theme was butterfly and caterpillars. I made caterpillar cakes for the twins and a butterfly for my oldest. After that we continued with the blow up water slides. It was a hit with all the children and all the parents. We served Brisket with potato salad, chips and beans for all and had Hot Dogs as a back up for the children that would not eat Brisket. This required the least amount of prep/distractions from the kids. Each year the water slide has changed and was bigger. All the kids and adults look forward to the party each year. At 3 the theme for the twins was Dora and Diego. At 4 it was an ocean theme with Dolphin and Sharks. At 5 it was Barbie Island Princess and Pirates. At 6 the theme for the twins was Woody and Jessie from Toy Story. I have made their invitations each year. I made a basic invitation and have changed the date and theme each year. It has been very easy to do. Last year when they turned 7 the theme was G I Joe meats Glamour Barbie. Let me know if you have any questions. I would be happy to help by sending you a sample invitation and my Jump House providers name. He is wonderful! Good Luck with your plans.

I have been to "pool" parties where they have rented blow ups that run water through the slide into a shallow pool and then they have other little games that involved small wading pools.

I think it is kind of hard to do water parties unless you have a pool and/or plan on renting blow ups. Otherwise, slip and slides and small blow up pools you can buy at Walmart can be done.

If you decide to go a completely different direction, my husband and I are professional Clowns. We offer facepainting, balloon sculptures, comedy magic shows, Glitter Art Tattoos (these are great because the last 5-7 days and can get wet immediately after application), friendship bracelets, along with fun interaction and games. We've entertained at birthday parties and large events like the Plano Balloon Festival.

Our prices are very reasonable (we have four great kids of our own so we know how expensive things can get) and we do our best to work within a person's budget.
