she can have a craft party at Micheal's. Some salons or girl boutiques do little girl parties. www.jessicasprincessparties.com is very cute. I have a 1 year old son and at a loss for boy ideas! Maybe a petting zoo, a friend had theirs at the ballpark at arlington... she said it was a good deal and really cool. just google the website and contact them for info.

Here is an idea:

L – Let’s Pretend Tea Parties
Dressing up for dinner may sound a little stuffy, but dressing up for lunch is a whole lot of fun at Let’s Pretend Tea Parties and its Willow Cottage dining room. While grown-ups nosh on tearoom fare, little princes and princesses get to play dress-up before tucking into a kids’ meal that is anything but the same old same old. A choice of sandwich (peanut butter, turkey or grilled cheese) is served with petit fours, a fruit kabob and a tea cookie. Saturday tea parties are available by reservation and are a popular option for birthdays.
Let’s Pretend Tea Parties: 326 S. Main St., Grapevine; 817/421-6678

Or if there's a park by your house you could have it there and order pizza.

Try Strikz in Frisco!

Just wanted to add that Paint and Party(Parker/Independence) does GREAT parties and the kids get to bring home their craft! I think it's about $9 a child and you can bring your own food, cake, drinks in!

T.,
We attended 3 birthday parties this past Saturday: One was at the Denton Natatorium (swimming), Aqua Kids in Flower Mound (swimming), and the last at WinKids in Flower Mound (gymnastics). My son is turning 6 this month and now he wants a swim party too!! We have a 2 year old daughter who loved it as well just as a spectator!! The Natatorium is where the Denton WaterWorks Park is located. The pool was very warm as was the building. The party rooms upstairs were HUGE!! Good luck!!

Aquakids has a great rate for partys. Excite does a smaller, cheaper version of pump it up. Tea party in Grapevine off Main St. Might check Wynnkids, I bet they have something. If I think of anything else I will add it to my response! Good Luck!

I had my son's 4th birthday party at a place called "The Cowgirl Ranch" in Westlake... the kids got to ride horses and feed them carrots, i brought lunch for everyone and she provided lemonade. I bought them bandanas and little cowboy hats and sheriff's badges... they got to do some games there and she told them all about cowboy's gear and such. It was a great time and lots of fun.

Another idea is to do a birthday party at the Fort Worth Zoo. For about $200 you get your own private room and they bring in 4 different animals from 4 different groups - reptile, mammal, bird and (somethign else)... for this I brought sack lunches for all the kids and had a chocolate cookie cake (easier to transport)... and then everyone gets a free ticket to the FW Zoo for the day. THey give you ideas for games to play .. it was pretty neat too.

Just a couple of ideas I'd done.

When my son turned 5... he just wanted to get a bouncy house and we did that and a slip n slide and an inflatable obstacle course and had a hamburger cookout...

YOu could have it at a park and do a nature safari / scavenger hunt type thing...

There's a place called Color Tyme or Color Me Mine in Parker Square that would be a lot of fun for your eight year old. An idea for your four year old that's a little out of the way but we did it for our daughter's fifth birthday last year is the little zoo in Gainesville.

My son's 4th birthday is in May also and we are doing a reptile theme. Vivid Vivariums is doing a reptile show for the kids. Very informative and the kids get to interact with the reptiles. (Lots of hand sanitizer following, of course!)

You can contact Sara with Vivid Vivariums at ###-###-####

There is also the Treehouse at Glenview Baptist Church. it is at Haltom Rd and 820. AWESOME indoor playground. HUGE!!!!They only do Saturdays and they fill up fast! I think they request a $5 donation per child.

Hope this helps, liz
