I am looking for a place to host my 2 yr olds b-day party. My house is to small to accomidate my family. I would like it to have something fun for the kids to do but not outragously expensive. Any suggestions??

What can I do next?

I have been to birthday parties at McDonalds that have the play area, Circus Pizza or one of my favorites would be Edinbourough Park in Edina. The Edinbourgh Park has a relaxing area with indoor waterfalls and trees, it also has the climbing area (like McDonalds play area -but much nicer)and a moonwalk that costs $5.00/person though. Edinborough does have an open gym area (with balls, and scooters) that is free and they had a small playground that was free. One completely free park is Chutes and Ladders at the Highland Park Reserve in West Bloomington. That has a HUGE array of tunnels and slides for older kids and two smaller parks for the younger kids. It is also on the lake so it also apeals to adults and kids and gives you a nice place to begin and/or end the party.
Good luck

Some ideas: what about a rec center, community center, local church that has a kid-friendly facility, Como Zoo?

Good luck!

Check out Edinborough Park in Edina. It's an in-door park and they also host kids birthday parties. They also have a basketball court for them to run on and a swimming pool.

hey there! i completly know what you are talking about. so, when my daughter turned two and since we have an enormous family, we had a beach themed pool party @ a hotel! that way we were able to acomodate everyone, even the family that was coming in from out of town just stayed at that hotel. the kids got to swim and we took our 2 year old in the water, it might be a nice time to introduce your little one to the pool if you haven't yet. He will see all of the family who Im sure he trusts having fun and won't be scared. only thing is it did take us a while to find a hotel that would allow us to pay just to use the pool facility so we just rented their cheapest room and made cakes and cupcakes and brought crackers and cheese, juice boxes and water. the adults were able to enjoy themselves as well because they had a hot tub and sauna as well. I don't live in Minneapolis but just incase you want to know, we had our party @ the Courtyard Marriot in Mendota Hgts.( minutes from the mall). They are awesome and their staff is great! Good luck, and happy birthday to your son!

I have had good luck using the park board community center in my neighborhood. Check with your neighborhood park.
