My daughter is turning 5 soon and I have no ideas what to do for her bday party in Aug. I think Chucky Cheese is overrated. I had birthday party at our house one year and that is too stressful and never ending cleaning up duty. I was thinking maybe a park and bbq or something? Anyone have any ideas on an inexpensive bday party?? Thanks for the help.

ASI Gymnastics off of Denton Hwy in Keller. We had my daughter's party there last year and all of the kids loved it. www.asigymnastics.com

Hi! Our daughter turned 6 in April. This past bday she did Roller Skating, there is also Sweet and Sassy, a place in Joshua called The Art Barn (paint their own ceramics), Putt Putt, Bounce house places, Build a Bear. Without knowing what your daughter is into. There is also a place in Keller, cant remember the name, but it is a girls only store, where they dress up, do a mini runway thing. It is in the new Keller area over by Storkvision. HTH!

Check into The Hills church of Christ playscapre or Glenview treehouse. (They may already be booked, especially Glenview, but you never know.) They are super-cheap and easy.

Also- you could do it at the Cannon Park splashpad in Ronaoke, Broadway Park splash pad in Haltom City or McPherson park splashpad in Colleyville. You would probably only have to pay to rent the pavillion and you could BBQ as well. I think they all have a park nearby too.

The Northpark YMCA offers a reasonable pool party. We went to a really fun one last year at Bedford Splash and I think the mom said it was pretty reasonable.

I think a park might be too hot at this time of year unless you do the evening.

Good luck!

A park is definitely the cheaper route for a bithday party. We've done a park birthday 3 times now. We did it once at the Train Station-Trinity Park train and another time at Trinity Park in the pavilion area and then near Eagle Mountain Lake. Fort Worth is charging now for rentals of party type areas, the nicer areas that have shade. You do have to reserve them for a certain time also. Trinity park is a nice one, if you can get one near the playground. I don't know about Keller area. You could do a BBQ lunch or dinner, if you want. We usually do cake or cupcakes,etc... You could also do games. You could do a theme and decorate the area that way. I like having them at the park, it is easy cleanup.

Another idea for an inexpensive birthday party is The Hills Church or North Richland Hills Church of Christ playscape. This is indoors, I believe it is $50 to rent it out. There is a huge playscape for the big kids and a smaller area for the toddlers and babies. Lots of seats for parents and Grandparents around the playscape. You can check their website out for more information.

My daughter will be 6 in September. We did a park party last year with popsicles, lots of water/juice, and a pinata. IT WAS HOT! This year for her party we are doing a pretend sleepover in the evening from 5-8. The girls are going to come over in their PJ's and bring a sleeping friend and maybe sleeping bag. We are going to do nails, pizza, and cupcake decorating. I hope it works out great. I know it's only June but my little girl starts planning her party early! She get's so excited!

ASI does a good party and so does Sunshine Glaze in Southlake. We did the Glenview Treehouse for her 4th and it was fantastic. You have to book it early though! I hear good things about the party place in Keller but we have never been. Carvel in Keller does a party there which could be fun in August.

I've heard good things about this place: http://www.leapinlizards.net/. Parks are fun, but August would be really hot, so I think the splash pad is a good idea. Not a pool though-- way too stressful to keep an eye on all the kids.

If I were you and I was doing a Bday party in August I would recommend it be at a pool or splash pad or water park. It is soooo hot in August that its not that fun sitting outside. Its almost to hot to play on a playground too becuz the equiptment gets so hot in the sun. You can check into NRH2O, Hawwian Falls, YMCA's, Saginaw has a pretty cool Aquatic Center with a huge pool with a slide or two and diving boards and u can rent the covered pavillion.
