I have two older boys (5 and 8) and my little boy is turning 2 on the 30th. I need some gift ideas for him. I know he will love anything...even a cardboard box. But the older boys get a kick out of buying him something unique that they never had......so any ideas? I need one "big" gift from mommy and daddy and some ideas for my boys to get their brother. What does your 2 year old love? Thanks mamas!

What can I do next?

My daughter loves music. I got her a keyboard and a drum for her birthday in March and she still plays with them. They were both around $20 each. She also got a Mr. Potato Head that she loves and plays with often. My friend's 2 year old loves her Tag Junior, but my daughter doesn't play with her at all, she prefers to "read" her books by herself. My daughter also loves art, so for Christmas we got her an art easel that has dry erase on one side and a chalk board on the other with a roll of paper attached to. It's wood and primary colors, but she still plays with that everyday. The easel was only $20 at Wal-Mart. She also loves Play-doh and bubbles.

When my twins were 2 we had a tough time finding unique gifts as well. We ended up buying them the nylon "tunnel" sets that you can crawl through and end up in a tent. I think Toys R Us has them, so does Target. They LOVED them. Each of your older boys can buy a different part or accessories for the system :)

My grandson is 3 and LOVES Lightening McQueen from Cars. With the new movie out you should be able to find lots of Cars related stuff.

My daughter is getting a few books, "paper" dolls that stick on her wall, a magnetic fishing set, and a quilt made from our favorite baby clothes from her first year of life. <3

We bought our son at Tag Reader (not Tag Junior). He was always using his big brothers. Now at birthdays and Christmas his cousins can get him books.

We chose the regular Tag Reader because it will work with all of the books, not just the Tag Junior books.

We also bought him a riding tow ... a little tractor he can ride around the driveway.

For my kids' 2nd birthdays, I always bought something that they could add on too like a train set and then for years we bought trains and things to go with it. Or legos are the best gift also! My boys, now 10 & 8 still play with legos. Duplos would be great for your 2 yr. old. My 3 year old has played with my boys' old duplos for the last 2 years and we've added sets to it.

So I would highly recommend a wooden train train or duplo legos (they have great sets out there). The are both great for learning and imaginary play.

Happy Birthday to your little guys:)

I don't know if there is a learning express near you but I always find something that intrigues me there... and I have yet to disappoint the birthday kids.

How about puzzles (with only a handful of pieces that are thicker or even made of wood), or Kid K'nex, the larger version of K'nex for younger kids.

My mom bought my son the Imaginarium train table for his 2nd birthday. He loves it! We didn't glue the track to the table, as some have suggested to us. He will play with the train for a while, then we will take it down and he'll use the table to play with other stuff, usually cars.

My son loves cars so Matchbox cars and Chuck the Truck cars are good too. I guess my son doesn't really have anything unique that I could offer, but he likes the animal figures and they love the Discovery tent - it sparks great imaginative play. My 2 year old loves outside toys too - and he gets a lot of use out of his ride-on car we bought at a garage sale - not the extravagant ones, one you have to ride Flintstone style :)
