I am looking for a birth photographer with availability in mid-October. The photographer I had lined up just let me know she is not available. Any recommendations?

What can I do next?

Hi there! I am a local photographer (Chunky Monkey Photography) and would love to be with you to document your special day! Depending on how much of your labor and delivery you would want documented, I could be there for what you need! If you will have a scheduled birth, I would typically come approx 2 hours before birth and then stay for 2-4 hours afterwards to capture those first moments of your new addition! This would just be $300.00. If you have a unscheduled birth, I could arrive within an hour of you calling me. I would also come to your home 2 weeks after the birth (give or take on the timing) and give you a full newborn session as well! You would get a CD of each session (birth and newborn) of all the edited pictures and a photographers release so that you can print them as you would like! I would love the opportunity to come and meet you and get to know you and your family and get to meet this special little one that is to come!

Contact Courtney McClellen at fresh perspectives. fpphotography.com
My husband and I were thinking about using her if we decided to have a photographer. I ended up bedrested for a long time and it just fell to the side. So we only have the pics that the midwife took. Wish she had been there. We will use her next time. She just took 6mo pics of our daughter Ruby. on her web site go to online viewing at the bottom and you will see the link to Ruby's pics (if you are interested). Birth pictures are locked but she may be able to get permission from the other mothers for you to see.

Good luck!

I Second B4 Photography her black and whites are incredible and she is very inexpensive. Word of the wise, get someone with street credibility for your birth and not one of these "I own a camera now I am a photographer" people. You get one chance to get the moment right!!!

PM me and I will give you emails from a few that did my birth.

GOOD LUCK

A good friend of mine recently used Steve Colwill. Check out his website at poeticexposure.com. He only takes photos of babies 3 weeks old or less. I know he was very reasonable and gave her a CD of the pictures. Good luck!

Hi C.!

I would love for you to check out my work in birth photography. I have a session featured on my website at www.b4photography.com. I can offer you photos from several other births as well as recommendations and testimonies from former clients.

With my services, you will receive full day coverage (approximately 6 -8 hours), a newborn session in your location of choice 1-2 weeks after birth, and both sessions include your high resolution images on a CD with a license release form to allow use of the photos at your discretion.

I have experience in this area as well as maternity and newborn photography.

Please let me know if I can be of any assistance to you and your family!

I hope to hear from you!

I used Nicole

Unfortunately I was having a c-section 3 hrs after I went into labor, so she didn't get there in time -but she does GREAT work and the hospital staff knew her and are happy to work with her - It was important to me that they knew and liked her -i didn't want someone that would grate on my caregiver's nerves.
