So I'm nursing my third baby (I bottle fed my first two) and I'm lost. I've totally lost my desire for intimacy. I just don't think I can feel sexy when I have to wear boob diapers...any suggestions??? I certainly don't feel like going without the nursing pads because I'll for sure leak, and I certainly don't want to totally leak all over while being intimate. What do you do to feel sexy agian while nursing??? thanks for your help!

What can I do next?

You won't need the nursing pads forever, just until your supply evens out. At least that's how it has been with me. But there is nothing wrong with keeping a bra on during intimate times, especially if it's a sexy bra. You'll probably need a new one, since your bra size has likely increased due to nursing. But that could be fun, what's sexier than a new bra and panty set?

Honestly, whats wrong with leaking a little bit? It can be fun....you never know how your husband will react---he may love it! Whatever makes you comfortable, you should wear that....GL!

Take a nice long hot shower first. Your milk will naturally express a bit. In the meantime, wash yourself all up. I love Olay Creme Ribbons with almond oil. It smells heavenly and makes your skin feel soft.
Don't worry about leaking. Sorry for TMI, but if you climax, you might leak a little and that's not such a bad thing. I don't think your husband will be turned off by it.
Put a towel or soft blanket under you if you're worried about your mattress or featherbed.
Take a nice shower. Get squeaky clean. Let your husband give you a back rub and see what happens.
I'm sure your husband still finds you sexy. You just have to allow yourself to feel that way too.

Best wishes.

Take a warm shower first and express some milk so that you are not as full. Use a nice scented soap or lotion to help feel sexy and don't worry. It's ok if you leak a little, who knows your husband may even like it :) Many men actually do!

I must concur with the other ladies....in my experience, men won't cry over the possiblility of spilled milk....I apologize for the horrible pun, of course.....lol...

Honestly, I haven't really felt sexy since before my last pregnancy--let's see, that would be 2 years ago--but the most amazing thing happens. Just when we feel like a gigantic blob that leaks and has mood swings, when we cannot see anything appealing about ourselves--men can. The man that cannot see dirty socks in the middle of the bedroom floor, and will not notice a toddler eating rocks right under his nose.

That same man can look at a woman and see the fountain of life, glowing with energy and flowing with sustenance. Why can we not have that vision....?

Do the best you can--you do have to TRY. That's not always easy, but try to see and feel the energy that your man does--feel the power. Also, he will have to understand that you are genetically programmed to devote yourself to your child, and it takes some time and effort (hint, hint) to flip the switch over to intimacy for a while.

Congrats on breastfeeding your baby. That experience, unlike intimacy, is a limited time offer and you will have that closeness with your child forever!

Best wishes and blessings

My husband actually liked the leaking during sex. He said it was very womanly. You would be surprised at the number of men who find this attractive. The bottom line is this, you are a woman doing nature's thing for your baby.....your husband should make sure you feel sexy and comfortable, because you will leak, so just go with it! The key is feeling sexy yourself and comfortable with what will happen. If you feel that way, he will sense that and will feel the same way.

I like the shower idea too, although hot water may cause more leakage. And stay away from the scented soaps or anything near your breasts if you plan to nurse after your little escapade - baby will probably not like it!

Wear a sexy lingerie top and try not to worry about it. Or go in the shower together.

I know what you mean! I always laid down a thick towel. (Not one of your "good" towels though or it will get stained.) Best wishes!

After my oldest son came and we became intimate again, I started leaking and was so embarrassed by it, but my husband was so turned on about it...in fact, he brought Oreo cookies to bed the next night (as a joke..."ready for my nighttime snack") that I became so comfortable about it and really stopped noticing! He enjoyed the taste of it and loved me leaking! Just put down a towel if you leak lots or invest in a good "waterproof" bed pad :-)! And just ask your hubby what he wants- if he isn't comfortable with it, invest in some beautiful bras to wear during those times...he may surprise you though...maybe supply the cookies for him LOL! :-) Just FYI, my husband actually misses it now (I stopped nursing about a year ago) and can't wait for us to get pregnant with #3!!!

Also, you will find you have to separate nursing and intimacy (chest-wise) in your head...it was hard for me at first to allow my chest to both be sustenance for my son and a "play thing" for my husband, but I finally did and it made tons of difference in our intimacy and took away a lot of the embarrassment!

Just so you are aware (because no one warned me!), leaking doesn't always stop at 4 months...it just depends. I nurse my first baby for 16 mo and my 2nd baby for 14 mo. I leaked up until the day I weaned. I soaked nursing pads like crazy, even after 4 months. Everyone kept telling me that I would stop leaking, but I never did!! Hopefully your body WILL stop leaking, but I like to atleast warn women that sometimes you just don't!

I always just keep a bra on during sex. It's obviously sort of annoying, but nursing is such a short time when you look at the big picture, so try not to stress too much!! I'm pregnant with #3 and we already joke about how we won't be having 'true naked sex' for another year!!!

If you have ever seen "a clockwork orange"- I always felt like a statue from the korova milk bar in that movie... And for me it was more awkward than sexy too.

I always wore a bra until the leaking stopped (it will... in time). However... you can often use a well padded good quality push up bra instead of a nursing bra. To me nursing bras are way to practical and straightforward looking to make me feel sexy. My husband loved going into a real lingerie store (not motherhood) for the first time in a while with me to help pick out "delicates" as well... which was fun.

Also, if you have just fed closer to when you two "get together" - that may help... less milk= less leakage. If you go out on date night, and eat dinner and go to a movie... by the time you get back you'll surely want to pump or nurse before you hop in the sack! Also, alchohol... of any type or quantity always seemed to make me produce SO MUCH milk. I had heard that beer can, but to me it seemed that anything did, even if it was just a glass or two of wine or a cocktail. So you may want to stick to "mockails" if this is a problem for you as well.

If all else fails... bite the bullet and just start "trying"... Wear a bra with plenty of padding and ask him not to mess with your breasts at all when you are "together." Try to focus on other things that DO turn you on when you start to dwell about getting soaked. If it is just terrible, take your date to the shower or bath- where you might not notice the "wetness" there.

Good Luck!

I definitely remember my breasts being off limits while breastfeeding - it was a long time after before they could be "sexy" parts of me again. But, while I was breastfeeding, I just wore a bra during sex - with pads or whatever. I don't remember that activity stimulating them to leak more, but maybe... anyway You can be super sexy in a bra - just have to figure that out is all - there is lots of lingerie out there that allows access while staying on and looks sexy. A new thing to play with!!! I am prety conservative in that arena, so leave it to me to figure out how to remain dresses and sexy! One of those babydoll type things might do the trick for you.
Good luck

Oh honey, I soo hear ya! :-)
Well...I nursed both my kids for 12 months. You can't go without sex that long just because you don't feel sexy...I know!! Otherwise your relationship suffers! So just use one of your old bras....a sexy one, add the pads..you may overflow out of the bra, but hey that will be sexy...just hide the pads. He will love it! Right now, until you are done nursing those things are food makers, not included with sex! haha We had sex with a bra on until I was done nursing, I also mostly leaked during much of the 12 months. I don't know who came up with that whole thing on your done leaking after so long...blah! You may be one of the lucky ones, but just be prepared for that possibility.
Good job with nursing, it's something to be proud of! It only lasts so long, then life continues!
God bless.

I stopped leaking around 4 months or so when my body finally figured out how much to make and when. I also hated cloth pads for my boobs so I got lilypadz. They are silicone and not bulky. You could wear them under a sexy bra or lingerie and not even know they were there. My hubby was weirded out about any leakage so he just didn't pay too much attention to the girls for a while.
