Hi Moms - I've closed down my shuttle business and need to sell my van (12 person 2007 Chevy Express) - I know about craigslist. Are any other resources out there that don't charge tons to get the word out? thanks

What can I do next?

I am just going to say this, we listed my car in the Auto Trader, and it was in there over a month, and we didn't get ONE call. I listed it on Craigslist, and it sold in 1 day.

With is being a 12 passenger and being used as a shuttle......check out local day cares, shuttle services, etc to see if they migh be interested.

Also, it would be good for a delivery service....flower shop etc.

We listed in Auto Trader and Car Soup with not one call. Listed in the local paper and Craigs List and got several calls right away. I would recommend one of those routes. Our paper has an option where if it doesn't sell, they will continue to reprint until it does.

Not sure of the price now but we used Auto Trader to sell our SUV a couple of years ago. You can add a picture and the ad appears in their print magazines as well as online. I believe it also runs until it sells. I want to say it was $70 or so but you reach tons of interested buyers. We sold our car in a week.

Craigslist or Carmax. Carmax will buy it without you having to buy another from them. Also, if you take it to Carmax, you take it to them instead of having someome come to your house.

Autotrader and Craigslist will get it sold. Don't waste your time with local classifieds.

If you have an american classifieds in your area that is a good way to go. I just paid $13.00 to put a thirty or so word ad, and it's a weekly paper. I have also tried to sell a vehicle over craigslist and it didn't work.

My husband recently listed his truck on craigslist and got some goofy replies so be careful. He got a few where it said things like "I'm interested but think your price is too high...click here to see what your vehicle is really worth" and then had a fake link. Then 1 real person wanted to know if he could pay for it over a few months! He had much better luck on carsoup, but I know they're big in the midwest and may not be in TX. Good luck!

You could try Edmunds.com also. Not sure if they are in Texas but I've done a lot of research when I bought my used car and found a lot of good sales and sales info on there.
