Don't know the brand or what it's called, but my son has a t-ball thingy he loves. It sets up so that he can put the ball (comes with several plastic balls and a plastic bat) on the tee and swing at it, or you can adjust it so the tee becomes a tube that holds the balls inside it,and you press a button and the balls shoot up in the air so you can swing at them. It's very light weight so we actually use it indoors

Hi S.,

I have been taking my former charge (I was a Nanny) to our local amusement park since his 1st birthday. He is 10 this year, and begs to go. He loves the outting just us, and I love spending time with him.

One of the ORIGINAL BIG WHEEL riding toys. They disappeared for a long while and came back out again about 2-3 years ago. We bought several for children in our family and you can not imagine how much fun they had on those three wheel things. They are low to the ground so it seems safe and they can still go fast and spin out. TONS of fun!! Don't buy the other brand that is cheaper. He will LOOOOVE it!

My 4 year old boy is ALL about superheros (particularly Spiderman, Batman and Iron Man), Toy Story 3, dinosaurs, sharks, alligators and snakes. Action figures, dress up costumes -really anything involving any of those is a big hit. Big, chomping teeth always get lots of attention! There are some cool Spiderman cars out there and the Toy Story 3 merchandise is really cool -they have the toys and the action figures, but my son LOVES his Buzz Lightyear jet pack and laser-shooting gloves. He wears them all the time.

Not sure how you're related, so not sure how much you want to spend -but my son also loves his Leapster. It's not cheap though -and the games are not cheap either (around 15-20 bucks). He does LOVE his bicycle and has really enjoyed riding it. It's a Toy Story bike -and he has a Spiderman helmet. He also loves his Razor scooter! Those are great because they're easy to fold up and take anywhere.

My son just turned 4 a couple of days ago, and he is really into being a "big boy" and learning to do things on his own. And he is really into learning things that "big people" already know like days of the week and so fourth, so we got him the handheld leapster for his birthday.

He loves it so much, he hasnt stopped playing with it since he got it. One of the better toys (educational too) that we have gotten him.

Good luck.

If this is for a party, maybe you can just ask the mom what he would really love to have.

Leapster.
My son loves his.... and has been using it since he was 2. On his own.
My daughter is 7 and still used her's too.
It is educational and fun. It grows with the child.

next, go according to your son's interests.... every kid is different.
Ask him what he is liking... make a list... explain that you can't buy everything but are looking for ideas.
(is this for YOUR son, or another kid? I wasn't clear on that per your post).

What about something for outside in the yard?
A scooter?
A tricycle?
A swing set?
A portable pool?
Some gardening stuff? My son loves that too.

I got my nephew a big bag of megablocks... he has had them for 2 years and he still loves them. The bag is ziplock too. We had made a game of putting all the blocks back in the big bag when he's done playing with them... he will throw them in one at a time and say "toy! Im done playing with you!!" and "Toy, youre going in the bag!!" it was too cute...
