Hi Moms. I live in the Keller area. What is the best place to sale maternity and Kids clothes? I currently have items on Craigslist but no bites as their are lots of items for sale now. I have thought about once upon a child in Keller. Anyone sale their items to them? How much should I expect for kids clothes or maternity clothes? Or would I have better luck in a garage sale?

What can I do next?

Hi, I tried once upon a child and kid to kid and it was ridiculous what they wanted to offer me. I had all brand new items that were new with tags (a 5pc crib bedding set, a Patemm Pad as seen on Oprah, 5 Carters brand outfits, etc.) retail price over $100 and they offered me $12 for everything! I had to laugh...I have done really well on craigslist ( I live in Fort Worth, TX). I've learned its all about marketing and posting good pictures and lots of detail and repost it after a week or so if you don't get any responses. You may be pricing your items too high...I offer to ship to customers and get lets of takers on that, and they pay the shipping. Some pay through paypal and others mail me cash or personal checks. Hope this info helps! Good luck!

Just Between Friends consignment sales are popular and another one is called Divine Consign which is going on right now in Grapevine.

We like Kid to Kid but you would have better luck in a yard sale compared to what the resale shops pay. You could always take whatever doesn't sell in the yard sale to Kid to Kid or Once Upon a Child...or even donate the leftovers to the Storehouse in Keller for a tax slip to use at year end.

Kid to kid would be the best place. They pay more for name brand and the condition the items are in.

I would recommend taking your items to Kid to Kid. They tend to pay more for your items because they sell their clothes at a higher price and are not as picky as Once upon a child. Now if your wanting to purchase items for your kids I would definately shop at Once upon a child! They have adorable clothes and are very reasonably priced. Don't do the garage sale route!! You will make just as much if not less and will take up your entire day trying to sell everything. Just take it in and sell it for cash or take the store credit they offer which will actually be more than the amt you would get in cash!

A good way to save a few hundred dollars in a year for your kid's clothing budget is a site called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. As long your things are in good condition they don't turn down anything because of brand, size or season. They take everything! They give you points to shop on the website and send you a box of clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist etc.

I once took some things to Kid to Kid and it was a total waste of time. They offered me $15. When I went back through the things that they did not keep I was very suprised, new items with tags that were name brand.

Try Ebay, repost on Craigslist, Just Between Friends (see what sale is coming up that is around you). I like the idea of a resale shop, but come on... I know what they sell and for how much because I used to shop there.

Good Luck
