Best Kid Car/ride on Toys?

I remember buying a ride in car for my nephew on year. It had removable panels in the floor so that it would convert when the child gets older. So for a baby/non-walker he could ride in it, then as a toddler he could push himself along in it. Does anyone know the car I'm talking about? I don't see it on toysrus.com

Also, what were your favorite toys for a baby - soon to be walker? Good walkers? Fun ride on toys?

Need ideas for our son.

Many thanks.

What can I do next?

ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ride on toy EVER?????? (from age 2-present / aka nearly 8)

We nicknamed it "the Scoocher", because while a child can do the handlebar only movement, all the kids in the neighborhood scooched on it by pushing with their feet. By age 3 we started requiring helmets. LOVE LOVE LOVE this toy. The kids in our neighborhood skipped trikes, bigwheels, all the common ride on toys because they had these. Many even pushed off having bikes until 1st or 2nd grade... because these are just FUN. Even adults can ride on them, but they're not as maneuverable for adults heavier weights. For a quieter in-house ride (esp for houses with tile)... just get the wheels they come with switched out for rollerblade wheels at your local bike shop.

I looked for something similar to what you describe and never did find it. I looked into those cars with the handle behind but they are more like strollers. I bought my daughter a Winnie the Pooh ride on car. She is 2 now and still rides it. Of course she has ruined a couple pair of shoes in the process since her feet tend to still be behind her when she goes forward. : ) But boy can she really take off on it. They had some really cute ones for boys too.

My SIL gave my daughter one that sounds similar to what you are describing it is a Chicco 4 in 1 ride on. I was going to suggest that you not get this one. My daughter never plays with it, has never riden on it and only pushes the buttons to make the sounds. But I know her son did like it that's why she got it for us. It was a waste for us and sits in the corner of the room collecting dust.
